for ways the boys and I can work together this summer to make a little spending money. I have thought of lawn jobs but I am looking for other ideas too. I am thinking it would be a good way for them to see the earning money, spending money cycle. I want it to be flexible enough that we can still do our swimming, golf etc lessons. It just seems that everything keeps getting more expensive and there are so many places I want to take them and things I want to do w/them that cost $$. I am really torn cuz the children's librarian position is open at our public library but I don't want to have to put them in daycare to get it. If any of you have ideas I would really appreciate it. TIA

Hi Beth. How about a paper route? Don't know how it works in the big cities, but here our local paper hires people to deliver the local paper (2x/week). I know quite a few families that deliver in their own neighbourhoods.
Good luck.

Thanks for the idea. I will look into that.
Here's another idea...what about pet care during the summer? Working people would enjoy having someone to walk their dogs or having someone check on the pets during the day, while on vacation, over a long weekend...you could make up fliers offering to do this.
Another idea might be to offer gardening work...they could weed, water things etc.
That's all I can think of right now....good luck with whatever you do!

Paper Route is a good idea. The weekly salary is between 50$ and 75$ if you are in canada. If you want to save money, you could use coupons, they are ver efficient. If it's winter and there's alot of snow, i suggest on going to shovel driveways. i hope I helped!

In my area there is always a great need for overnight child care for parents who work the night shift. If you have a few extra spaces for a child to sleep... it would be ideal. They usually get dropped off anywhere between 9:00 to 10:30... and are usually picked up and gone by 6:30 - 7:00 in the morning. That leaves you the rest of the day to do whatever you want with your own children. Shifts may vary but it's up to you what hours you work. Good luck and I hope that you can find something that works for you! :)
