I took my dds to our water park on Tuesday and forgot to get one of them to sunblock my back and shoulders. I guess I wasn't thinking too much about getting a burn because it was a cloudy day. I made sure they were both well slathered though.

Anyway, I ended up with a wicked sunburn, and 2 days later it is still very painful, prickly and hot to the touch :\

I have used solarcaine, aloe, and took a couple of advil in the middle of the night last night.

Any other tips? I am just so mad at myself :{ because I am usually very careful in the sun.

Thanks.

Ow!!! I'm really no help. I usually use aloe and then wait out the pain. Hope yours is felling better soon - it sure can be painful! :\

Bless their hearts! I usually use all the stuff you have tried..I have heard you can make a paste of either cornstarch or baking soda and water and put it on the spot and that helps. Hope you find some relief!

Ouch! :\

Been there done that many times. Vinegar will take the sting out....just soak a cloth in it and then lay it over your shoulders. Also, have you tried Noxema....a must in our house!

Hope it feels better soon.

The vineger and water idea will work good and they also make a cream called After Sun that is good to use to. You can also try taking a really hot bath. Soaking in hot water pulls the "fever" from your skin. Don't ask me why but it works. This also works if you are sick and running a high fever.
Hope you find something that works good for you!

I take extended soaks in cool water. Maybe put some baking soda in the water. Since it's on your shoulders you may need to use towels under your back to keep the burned part from touching the tub. Either that or just don't move once you're in position!
Another must is the Noxema that Darlene mentioned. It's medicated and keeps the skin soft.

I appreciate all your responses. Had totally forgotten about noxema, I will pick some up but the thought of rubbing anything on my skin right now is enough to make me cry :(

Never heard of the vinegar, will try that too.

Thanks again!
