View Full Version : Yoga
Anyone do this? I bought the "Yoga for Dummies" tape and just did it and feel like an absolute wet noodle now!!!!!
Ann, good for you!
I've been doing yoga for twenty years. I swear, it is the best exercise ever! I started when I was still dancing, I found this great Yogi who helped me with a chronic back problem I had had for years. He worked on me one session, and gave me some poses and I was better immediately! Plus, I lost inches which I had never expected.
I did it during two of my pregnancies, and did a couples prenatal yoga with dh. Made a huge difference in the way I felt after the babes were born, and made me feel like a really strong pregnant mama.
I take a yoga class at my gym now, which is really, really basic, it always makes me feel so good afterwards. I think most of us in life really and truly forget to breathe. If you stop and tell yourself to take a deep cleansing breath, most people find that they haven't really taken a deep breath for hours! Yoga got me breathing again.
Oh, can you tell I like yoga?

Amy...I have wanted to try yoga for years, but I never could find a class/place that was convenient. I the hardest part for me was doing all the breathing through the nose...I am used to breathing in through the nose but exhaling out the mouth..found I couldn't hold my breaths as long. I really enjoyed it.

I have two yoga tapes, and am looking at getting more. I too found it difficult to work life around a class. Now I just do it when I can in the comfort of home. My favorite is a Yoga for Weightloss tape. It is an hour long and it has four different levels for you to decide where you fit in. I like it because in some areas I am not as flexible as others. The company that puts it out is Living Arts. Namaste...
babagirl, where in Washington are you? Amy
