Nope...never feel like a bad mom when my kids are sick...I didn't make them that way!!! LOL

Is it possible that he has allergies what with all the renovations you are doing to your house maybe it's something in the air?

I'm sorry to hear that your ds isn't feeling very well. You have no need to feel like a bad mom Renee... you're doing all you can to help make him get better, what more can you do? Hopefully the medication will kick in soon and you'll start seeing some good results soon. Hang in there... :)

No need to feel that way. Things like that happen. I remember with my first 20 years ago I felt like he could have been the poster child for child abuse. He started walking at 8 mo. 5 days and after that he was always bumped and bruised, and it seemed like we were always in the emergency room: running through the house and fell against the corner of the coffee table, bled like crazy, took only 5 stitches; pulled a grandfather clock over onto himself, glass everywhere - not a cut (but I was out of my mind), just tiny glass fragments all over his face (nurse used masking tape wound around her hand, sticky side out to get it off) - eyes were fine. Another time he managed to find and chew on a tube of super glue. A mad dash to the hospital and frantic call to poison control (it is not toxic, but could have glued windpipe together). It was on his teeth forever!!! You can try to be very careful, but honestly, who is the only one who can open child proof bottles? Kids find a way to get into things. Kids will always find cold and flu bugs. You do the best you know how to do, you learn from your mistakes, you nurse when they're sick, and you pick up and go again tomorrow. Hang in there, he'll get better.

Yes, I know what you mean about feeling that way. My ds's both have been sick most of the winter, mostly the oldest.
I feel bad but also know that I didn't make them sick. I just feel bad that I cannot make them better and keep them that way. They pick up everything at school so much easier than what they used to. Can't wait for spring.

I feel better about him this morning, he didn't really cough last night and they both slept in this morning.....I however am still wrestling with the flu aches, but am also PMS so who knows what the aches are from....LOL...this house is not being renovated at this time so....just the common winter colds here so far...the school nurse send out a letter that this has been the worst year for school absenses....and it was -15 last night so it's not like its really warm out....where is Spring....LOL....

thanks again for all your support....

Hang on... Spring is coming.....just a few more months! LOL The only good thing about one cold, bug, flu after another is that there are fewer new viruses for him to catch next year. It has been incredible for sickness this year. I can't believe how many of the kids at school have been out repeatedly with stomach things and there has been a lot of pneumonia. We're talking preschool! Most of our new staff has been sick too. Any change to a new environment (school or daycare especially) seems to bring it on. I know what you mean about feeling like a "bad mother". I used to feel like the nurse thought I was neglecting my dd. But as a teacher I appreciate parents who recognize that hacking coughs and runny green noses aren't a picture of health.

PS Wasn't it nice to have warm(er) weather briefly on Tuesday?

I hope your ds starts feeling better soon. I know you feel rotten because he has been sick so much, but you shouldn't. At least you took him to the doctor, and are trying to get him better. I know some parents whose child has been sick now for over a month, but they still won't take the child to the doctor, and it is not for financial reasons either. Sorry to go on like that, but stuff like that makes me so mad. Anyway maybe hearing about rotten parents will make you realize that you are not, and some good will come out of my venting after all. LOL!!!:)

My dd has been sick off and on since Christmas. She has probably been absent for 10 days since then. Right now she is on antibiotics in hopes of clearing whatever sinus congestion she has. She started snoring again too. :(

I also need to call my neighbor (he is an OB) and get something for my sinuses too. Glad to know there is a lot of sickness going around.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing about the OB! But, I guess you use the resources you've got. Shows that Mom's can't even be sick enough to have a regular doctor. OK, Amy, the OB comment gets you in the club!

Hey my neighbor allows me to get fast medicine without dragging my ds 45 minutes to base, wait, get seen, wait for medicine and than travel back down to Pueblo. LOL! I actually asked the kids Ped. what could I take and I just called my neighbor and he called it into the pharmacy for me. See?? Im smarter than I look!! LOL

Ann is NOT allowed into the club. She is a little too spunky today. We are looking for pathetic, not spunky! LOL

RCT-I like sweatshirts too. Tx/Mom is getting that Texas spunky attitude too-Im voting her out of her own club too! ROFL!

What is that old saying by the well known philosopher Groucho Marx...."I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would want me as a member"!!!!!!! LOL

What, mutiny in the Rotten Moms Club?! OK missy, that just got you promoted to President! I will not, however, be unceremoniously tossed out! I'm staying. As evidence of my worthiness to be in the club, I offer the following evidence: It's almost 1pm and I haven't fed my 3 year old lunch yet. HA!
