dd came home from day-camp with a letter requesting that each camper ( a group of 12) prepare and bring to share a treat prepared with rice krispies cereal, something creative, not just the usual rice krispie squares. We have a couple of weeks to come up with something. Any ideas???
its not terribly creative but there is a recipe in better homes and garden for special K cookies that do not require baking
i am pretty sure we have substituted rice crispies for the special k

I found this on www.kelloggs.com They have a ton of recipe's. Do a search for Rice Krispies as the ingredient. The chocolate crunch ice cream pie sounds yummy!!
Bird's Nests
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups KELLOGG'S® RICE KRISPIES® cereal
1/2 cup coconut (tinted green)
Miniature marshmallows
Jelly beans
Chocolate eggs
1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal and coconut. Stir until well coated.
3. Shape mixture into sixteen 3-inch nests. Fill cooled nests with miniature marshmallows, jelly beans or chocolate eggs. Best if served the same day.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In a microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above.
Microwave cooking times may vary.
NOTE:
For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
Store no more than two days in airtight container.

I just saw a recipe for rice krispie treat pizza. You put the mixture in a pizza pan rather than a regular one. I think you use some fruit preserves for the sauce. Fruit leather or roll ups cut in circles for the pepperoni. Hmm... can't remember what the cheese was made from. I'll have to look for the recipe --maybe it was in Family Fun. I'll get back to you if I find it.
