I have a 3 month old and I was wondering, when should he start rolling over? And will it be from tummy to back or from back to tummy? Does anyone know??
Bear in mind that all children develop at different rates. There are AVERAGES by which the majority of children will do things, but those who develop a tad early or a bit later or even do things in a different or unusual way are pretty much considered "normal" also. My own kids started rolling over I think from tummy to back as early as two months, and then from back to tummy much later, like four or five months. It seems it was easier from the tummy because they could just push with an arm and arch their back, and sort of flip over. There was also more motivation to roll onto the back so they could see my face. The other way required more abdominal strength and momentum, and they didn't have much motivation until they decided they wanted to go somewhere. Then (usually about 5 months)about a week or two after learning to roll onto the tummy they started scooting "combat style" in preparation for crawling. And of course, if you are truly concerned you can always ask your child's doctor for advice or counsel. :)
BTW, Welcome to the board!
