A California court has ruled that a set of affluent parents (over 200,000 income) have to support there 50 yr old son. He was making 120,000 plus and is a Stanford graduate. I think he is a lawyer. Now he has been diagnosed as depressed and having bi-polar. He requested 11,000 in support for a month. The court awarded about 3,500 per month in support from his parents.

Do you think parents should be required by law to support adult children?

No way!!!!
I know someone has got to help these people out, but there are foundations that take care of that.
If this man was making that kind of money, he should have enough saved that he could retire quite comfortable anyway.

I've never heard of anything so rediculous in my life... NO WAY!!!
I agree also that if he made that kind of money you'd think that by now he'd have a pretty sizeable savings account. I'm glad they at least aren't making the parents pay the full 11,000... but even at that 3,500 is no spit in the bucket either. I'm wondering how his parents feel about this decision.

Yes I do. Then my wife could stay home and watch the kids while I play.
