cake delima HELP please...

Ok, so its been hot here and everywhere....dh could care less what kind of cake we have on his birthday party here sunday....I was going to bake a two layer cake, then a 1/4 sheet cake and some cupcakes...its a cake and ice cream party only....no food....but I was also thinking of pricing a 1/2 sheet cake at Walmart.....but would rather...serve the cakes and cup cakes...with ice cream of course.....it would be way cheaper and easier for the kids....does this sound tacky? please help...I hate these kinds of things...

I read and re-read your post, but I'm not sure I understand it...are you asking if making and serving a cake and cupcakes is tacky compared to buying a big cake?

ROFL!!!! sorry but I didn't understand it either!!!
If it's tacky to buy, then I must be tacky..we always do store bought cupcakes or cake.

LOL....no not if it tacky to buy rather than bake, but if it was tacky to serve cupcakes to a bunch of six year olds....LOL....I ended up buying a cake at Walmart...it was a hot wheels 1/2 sheet cake and it was devoured.....LOL.....the party went great and everyone stayed and played until 5 or 5:30.....it was wonderful and ds got some great new toys....just what we needed....LOL...sorry I was so confusing about my original post....I was having one of those days....
