Morning everyone! Another gorgeous day here!

Went out for dinner and a movie last night for our "birthday club" and saw Planet of the Apes - what a dud! Should've stuck with the original, lol. Now I want to see "the Others", looks very spooky!

Got some back to school shopping done at the gap yesterday (everyone had their clothes on there thank goodnes, lol ;) ). Has anyone seen that they have brought back their 80s logo?? ick! The 80s are still to fresh in my mind for me to consider them "retro", lol!

Hope those whose kids had their first day back yesterday had good days!

ROFL! Kathy!!!!
I couldn't believe our Gap here..everything was all longs sleeves and jeans!!!! Hello???? We don't have winter here till December!!! Also...if it wasn't winter clothes, it was slut clothes! I am so sick and tired of these clothing makers trying to make little girls look like grown women!!!
Well..there's MY rant for the day! LOL

Not much on today..thought I had a meeting at the middle school but it's next week..may just hang out!

Did you have your coffee before you started posting? LOL That is such a AMY thing to do without my morning cofee. ROFL!

Thankfully, I had all my clothes shopping done since early summer. Most of it was done online too at oshkoshbgosh.com and healthex.com during their sales. Got some great deals and saved about $200 on both kids! :D Nothing makes my day than a really good deal!LOL

We have to pick up my Dad in Denver today. He just called and said he was stuck in Philadelphia :( The plane has an oil leak and now it looks as if he will be delayed there another 4 hours. We were all set to leave here in 30 min. Oh well.... Don't know if we will make it to Casa Bonita today or not.

Other than that--Found out yesterday that ds is going to pre-school 4x's a week through the school district. I thought he was just going to classes for speech, but found out that have him enrolled through an IEP form and he starts next Friday! Talk about a shock to my system. I really want to give him a chance at being around other kids, so i didn't yank him from it, but i am totally unprepared to release my baby for 4xs a week!!! The dental office is right by the school, so I guess I could work a couple of hours everyday:) Eventually, I'll probably veto that and take the time out for myself!

I absolutley hate little kids in trendy clothes!! You will not see my dd in low-risers or tiny tank tops. I like them in age appropriate clothing!

Aren't you special with all your bargains! LOL I did pretty good too..ds' shorts were regular $25 down to $12.99 and dd got her shorts for $8.99.

Do you like the school that ds will be going to? What will the hours be? I am SURE that you will adjust!! LOL :newwink:

Mornin',
I ditto AnnW on the clothes also. I really haven't bought that much for school. DD is being very picky and stubborn. Doesn't even want to go school shopping. We have a good assortment to get started with, so I am not worried.

I had a PTO duty this AM, but have passed it off to another person. DD and I have piano lessons this AM so it would have been impossible to be in two places at the same time. I have been terrible with piano practice this week. I will try to do my best.

Now for some bad news, my father is in the Hospital. He has MS and went in for some surgery to help him and they found cancer. We still don't have the results of the byopsy. My mom doesn't seem to be handling it very well. I feel at peace about it. Just don't know what to do to help my mom. And this is a horrible week. I have something friday and sat. Mom said that she thought Dad would be out of the hospital by Sunday. It is bad of me not to go to the hospital??

Tonight is "Back to School Night" so we will be meeting my DD's teacher. She is thrilled about who she got. (I did request her behind DD's back) She was my second choice for a teacher, but dd wanted her so badly. We shall see! I hope that I made the right choice.

Thanks for listen' yall.

I've never been one to allow my dd's to dress like a bunch of little sluts... and sometimes it's SO hard to find clothes that AREN'T "that way". LOL My youngest (l6) dd gets really frustrated when she goes shopping for shirts because their all either cut very high up or have very low necklines... or TOO tight. What's worse is when you go to the elementary schools and see little girls dressed like that AND wearing make-up to boot. LOL Sometimes I wonder if their mommies/daddies KNOW that their kids are wearing all of this make up or even some of the clothes that their wearing. Some kids sneak things to school and change without mom and dad knowing about it, which also leaves me to wonder where they got it (or who bought it) for them in the first place. LOL It's getting harder to find good/decent clothes anymore. :)

Diane...

I am not real sure that the kids are sneaking it. I have gotten in many disagreements with friend's of dd's moms about the whole tank top issue..alot think it's ok cause they are little and don't have bosoms...I think it's setting a precedent I don't want. Also, there were girls in my ds's FIFTH grade class that were getting their legs waxed..hair highlighted...acrylic nails!!!!!!!!! Who do you think was taking them???????

Yikes!!! Dh is SO glad we don't have a girl, especially since he sees how many of them dress in high school! I'm glad he's getting older because he was only 23 when he started teaching and that was too close in age to those 17 and 18 yr old students! :newwink: LOL!

Not much on today's agenda. Have been working on laundry this morning. We head to my mom's tomorrow for the weekend. The boys can't wait to get back to the fair. :)

Oh, I put dd in Capri's!! Those are very cute! I was talking about the pants that only go up to your hips!
