What does the closed thread mean? I can't reply to it anymore? How do you do the snickers bar thing.

Yes, a closed thread means you can read all the posts, but you can't reply to that thread anymore.

To get the Snickers bar, type this without the spaces:

: snickers :

:snickers:

Dh said that if you start a thread you can delete that whole thread?? Is that correct here?

I get what a closed thread is, but why would a thread be closed and who closes it?

I think the origional poster is the only one who can close the thread. (Probably when they no longer want replies?)

I also *think* a moderator could close a thread that gets too heated - like maybe on the debate board???

Renee, the only thread that is closed was the very first one and I think David closed it cause we (me!LOL) were whining and complaining so bad about the board change that it was getting redundant!!! LOL

Just start a new thread with your opinions!!!!

Renee... did you know that when you make an error of some kind, you can also edit it? That is one part of the board that I just LOVE because I'm usually always screwing up but never seemed to notice it until after I already pushed the reply button. I'm really beginning to like this new board format. LOL

This is Angie R's DH, and I just wanted to tell you how cool this format is! It is very similar to the boards at http://www.starnews.com where I camp out on the Pacers forum. I've been to other sites, which are similar to what you had here before, but this is much better. It is so nice to be able to go to the topics you like instead of looking day by day. Anyway, I know it is difficult to change, but I've tried it both ways and would find it difficult to switch back.

The smiley face codes are different... for example I would type  instead of 8\ I think another nice thing is that you can edit your message and all users are identified. The few times I used to post here I would find () where somebody's name was supposed to be, and once you hit the enter key... that is all she wrote.

I think the ability to delete a post is also valuable. Sometimes... I doubt it happens much here, but somebody will go off on a tangent and "flame" your post. Those are the times it is nice to just delete it. Anyway, have fun!

Speaking of running, he and I just registered for the Indy 500 mini marathon. He is running the mini, I am running the 5K. It is a start anyway!!
