As we are deluded with pictures of N'sync and the Backstreet boys it always makes me think of the guys girls used to ogle over when I was young. I remember the girls liking Shawn Cassidy, Andy Gibb, and seeing Scott Baio (Wah Wah Wah!) on every teen magazine known to man.
My personal favorite was Farah Fawcett! :* :)
It seems like we have done this thread before, but... what the heck let's do it again! :)

Andy Gibb and Mark Harmon were my two favorites. One girl I knew was so 'ga ga" over Shawn Cassidy (even named her little brother after him) that I was turned off by him.
Bobby Sherman and Davy Jones!!!!!!!!!

For the Shaun Cassidy fans, you will be happy to know that the first record I ever bought was a 45 version of "Da Doo Run Run" by Mr. Cassidy. On the flip side was a song called "Holiday."
The other record I bought was "Undercover Angel" by Alan O'day. I secretly hope I am on a game show somewhere and they ask me "Who sang Undercover Angel?" I would have to be one of the few people thta would know the answer to that one!
And yes... I remember the song on the flip side that was "Just You."
(Sigh) Why do I remember these things? :)

MM! A Sunday night couldn't pass without our family sitting down TOGETHER to watch The Nancy Drew/ Hardy Boys mystery hour. We also went as a family to see Shawn Cassidy in concert, my first concert. He wore red leather pants. I liked the younger DeFranco. I can't recall his name now though. Tony I think. I dreamed of marring the guy who played Almonzo Wilder in Little house. lol ßß!
Here are my phases--The Monkees, Ponch, the blonde one (Larry Wilcox) and his brother (the surfer/cop-my first and only fan letter), Gopher from the Love Boat, and the dude who played Shazam on the Saturday morning show. LOL!

.... The Shazam guy! Yep, I remember him! My sister and I had posters of Leif Garrett, John Travolta (and we also had his double album set!!), Robby Benson, Scott Baio. Do you guys remember having K-Tel Albums (collections of popular songs)? ..I remember having ones titled "Hit Machine" and "Right On".

Mary L,
My sister had a couple of Ktel Albums. One was a double "Superstar Collection" that included hits by Andy Gibb "Love is thicker then Water," the theme from Star Wars, and Player's "Baby Come Back." She had another K-tel album with songs by Kiss and Barry Mannilow. The lead singer of Faith no More used to wear a K-tel shirt in one of his videos and I still am on the hunt for one if I find it!
And Mary L and Amy/Co..... here is a special thrill just for you!

OMG.....The Shazam Guy! Still as "dreamy" as ever! :* Thanks for refreshing my memory, Brichard!
I think my K-Tel Album had "A kind of Hush" on it (Was that Captain and Tenille (sp?) whose album we also had, by the way!)....My sister and I used to make up dances in our bedroom to those songs!
My tases changed as I got older. I adored Michael Jackson (Where there is looooove, I'll be there.) Went through a Davy Jones, Bobby Sherman phase (along withwhat's his name, the blond brother on Here Come the Brides and Starsky and Hutch. Until I found out he was a wife beater, then he lost some appeal.) I flipped over Roger Daltry (Tommy can you hear me?) when I saw Tommy. And Cat Stevens bearded on his Tea for the tillerman album, with that bass voice. Sigh....

Erik Estrada, Anson Williams, John Tavolta , during my 8 -10 years
Young teen, Michael Dameon, Jack Wagner and Robert Kelker Kelly.
When I was about 5 I was in love with the movie The Sound Of Music and was totally convinced that I was going to marry Christopher Plummer, live in that big house, and dance every night in the big ball room.
