Hi Ann. I was just wondering how your dd is doing with the nighttime wetting? I know you and i had discussed this previously and you had said you were going to talk to your dr if it went beyond age 7.
Our dd is pretty consistently dry now, but we do still get her up once a night to use the bathroom. However, most often if she is not in her own bed she wets. We rely on goodnights for those occasions.
Our dr says to give it more time, that she will continue to outgrow it. Just wondering how your dd is doing.
Actually tonite will be her first night with no pullups. She was totally dry 3 nights in a row while we were on vacation and that gave her confidence to try. Granted, she changed her mind when we got home but said she would start when the pack of pullups ran out. I think she is a little scared, but we will see what happens. She has had a couple of bad instances of being teased recently about wearing pullups and is feeling very self conscious about the whole thing so we are just going to let her lead.
If it's not worked out by Christmas we will put her on the alarm, but it is to disruptive to sleep to try now.
Do those Goodnights really look like underwear?

Wow, 3 dry nights, that is a great start. Good luck to her.
Hate to hear that she was teased :(
No, goodnights do not look like underwear! They look like pullups with no patterns on them, lol.
Is the alarm the thing that wakes them as they start to wet? Does it work?
Let's just say that I almost killed a small child when he started teasing my baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr :(
Yes, that's how the alarm works..I have friends that swear by it, and the ped said it works so we will see.

I hear ya on the protection instinct.
How long does the child have to use the alarm?
There is also a nasal spray but my dr is very against that one.

Our youngest ds (5) is also a bed-wetter....on the road to a long string on dry nights!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE This is new territory to us, since ds#1 never had problems in this area. We have spent the past year and a half getting ds up to go potty before we go to bed...he sleeps through the whole thing! Kind of comical!! I think he's just a really deep sleeper, and doesn't wake up until it's too late. Anyway, we decided to let him try to stay dry, and he's been doing great....no wet nights for almost 2 weeks! (We only used pull-ups until he was 4.) I'm so proud of him...and we don't make too big of a deal of it. I think he's just finally "got the hang of it", and I'm glad that we waited until he was ready. Our doctor also told us not to be concerned. Very common, I think! Good luck to your kids!
