One of the radio discussions today is about washing vehicles. In the city of Salem, OR it is illegal to wash more than one vehicle for pay. So car washes to raise money are illegal. I'm a little unclear but it sounds like this has been on the books for awhile but never enforced agains fund raisers. It sounds like an enviromentalist group is pushing the issue.
During the discussion it also came out that there are several cities in California where it is illegal to wash your own car in your own driveway.
The reasoning behind the bans is that the soap goes down into streams.
