Hi everyone!! I'm new to this site and love it already!!!! If you've seen any of my other posts, you'll see I love to pass on recipes that I've found to be crowd-pleasers or that are easy and not time consuming!! I also love to get new recipes, so bring 'em on!!!!!
Some great appetizer recipes (we have snack days at work and there's no better compliment to me than if someone requests something I've brought in the past!):
Bacon Wraps (these do take some time, but are worth it!)
1 loaf white bread
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg uncooked bacon, cut in half
Remove crusts from bread and roll completely flat with rolling pin. Spread each piece of bread with some of the soup. Roll up beginning with a pointed edge. Wrap with a piece of the halved bacon and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 45-60 minutes or until bacon is thoroughly cooked.
Spinach and artichoke dip (hot)
1 pkg (10 ozs) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 jar (6 1/2 ozs) artichoke hearts, drained and mashed
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 cups grated parmesan cheese, separated
salt, pepper and other spices to taste (I like to add onion powder/salt and garlic powder/salt)
Mix all ingredients, using 1 cup of the parmesan cheese and place in ungreased casserole dish. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
Crab melts
6 oz. English cheddar cheese spread
1 stick butter, softened
7 oz. crab meat
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
12 English muffins
Mix cheese, butter and salts together. Add crab meat and spread on muffins. Cut muffins into quarters. Broil for 5-19 minutes.
Can be placed on cookie sheet and frozen for later use.
EASY mac and cheese casserole
1 lb uncooked elbow macaroni
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 - 2 cups milk
Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 until cheese and milk are combined (around 45 mins!) I never time it, just keep checking until it looks right!
*add ham, hot dogs or spices to taste
*add bread crumbs for a cruncy topping
This recipe is great because you don't have to boil the macaroni!!
After baked, I put some into several single serving containters and freeze for later use in my daughters' lunches.
Bar-B-cups
1 lbs ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 can refridgerated biscuits
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 400. Brown beef/turkey and drain. Mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, onion powder and meat. Coat muffin pan with cooking spray and line with biscuits. Pour meat mixture into muffin cups and top with cheese. Bake 10-12 minutes.
Breakfast casserole (great to heat and eat on the run!)
1/4 cup margarine, melted
6 slices toast, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
8 large eggs
8 slices bacon, crumbled
In a greased casserole, place bread cubes in a single layer and sprinkle with melted margarine. Beat eggs, add cheese, milk and salt and pepper to taste. Pour slowly over bread cubes, top with bacon and bake at 325 for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
I know, I know, a lot of these recipes aren't exactly the most healthy of choices, but they're REALLY good!!! So I thought I'd share!!! My daughter is only 3, so most of these things are too sophisticated for her tastes! I always get lots of compliments when I make these, so I wanted to pass them along!
Hope you like!! :licklips:
