View Full Version : Preschool...getting started
I have recently been hired as a director/teacher in a preschool. This is a very big deal for me, and I would like to make a good impression. Can anyone give me any ideas for some cool themes, ideas, songs etc.... Thanks in advance!

Congatulations! :thumb:
My daughter starts preschool tomorrow, so it's all uncharted territory for me! For September (they mail out a calendar of what the kids will be doing each month) they're focusing on the color red (doing some things with Clifford, the big red dog, The Big Red Hen, etc), shapes and making new friends.
You could buy a book of hand rhymes to teach them. I got my daughter one through Children's Book of the Month Club, or www.cbomc.com Some things are kind of expensive, but it's good if you don't have time to go to a bunch of stores.
Also, check out www.orientaltrading.com for wonderful craft kits. The kits are very cheap and usually make 12 items. The only thing not included is the glue! I'm ordering quite a few things for my daughter and I and some of her friends to make, even thought I might take some to her school for the kids to do there!
Good luck! I hope the school year goes well for you!
