I need some snack ideas for my ds's class. He has a child in his class who is allergic to peanuts, wheat products and egg products. Any ideas of what I can take? Most of the crackers I look at list wheat flour.

Yikes...Have you gone to websites that deal with these types of allergies? Sometimes they provide good ideas.

Is there any way to get the parents to provide a list of "approved" snacks? Ds had a little girl in one of his classes who was allergic to eggs. The mom was very good about giving ideas and was very careful about checking everything that was brought in. The only thing that comes to mind right now is something like fruit snacks? Good luck!

Can he/she have cheese? Maybe cheese cubes or fruit/marshmallow/ cheese kabobs. How about applesauce? Popsicles? Hmmmm...I'll have to think more about this.

I would ask the mom for some suggestions. Sometimes, the mom just wants to bring her own snacks for her child and have the class mom do the rest of the kids..other times, she will be great with suggestions.

I agree with AnnW...we too have an allergic child in our 1st grade and his mother would prefer to bring his snack....but has given out great suggestions when asked....good luck...:tinysmile
