I know that I have some fingerplays somewhere... when I find them I'll post those to you too.

Sung to: "New York, New York"

Start spreading the news
We're leaving today
We want to be a part of it
First Grade, First Grade

We've worked very hard
We're ready to go
We're gonna be a part of it
First Grade, First Grade

We know our ABC's and our 1,2,3's so well
We've worked at sounding out words and stories to tell

Just asked us to rhyme
We'll say tens and pens
We've learned to share and get along with all our friends

So now we made it there
We'll make it anywhere
We're on our way
First Grade, First Grade

Graduation
Sung to: "Twinkle Twinkle little star"

Kindergarten here we come
We know we'll have lots of fun
Lots of things to make and do
Reading Writing Counting too
Kindergarten here we come
We know we'll have lots of fun

Great Expectations
Great for teacher's to recite

It’s time to say good-bye.
Our class has come to an end.
I’ve made more cherished memories
And many more friends.

I’ve watched your children learn and grow
And change from day to day.
I hope that all the things we’ve done
Have helped in some small way.

So it’s with happy memories
I send them out the door,
With great hope and expectations
For what next year holds in store.

Going off to Kindergarten
Sung to: "Oscar Mayer Wiener Song"

Oh, I'm ready to go off to kindergarten
That is where I really want to be
Cause when I get to go to kindergarten
Everyone will be so proud of me!

------------------------------------------------------------
Kindergarten, Here We Come!
Sung to: "I've Been Working on the Railroad"

I've been going to my preschool,
All the whole year long.
I've been going to my preschool,
And I've learned a lot of songs.
I can count and say my letters,
I know my colors, too.
I've been going to my preschool,
All the whole year through.

Graduation day, graduation day,
Graduation day is finally here.
Graduation day, graduation day,
Graduation day is finally here.

Kindergarten, here I come.
Kindergarten, I will be there soon.
Kindergarten, Here I come.
I'm so glad it's finally June!

End of year Poem

You’re a very special person,
And I wanted you to know,
How much I enjoyed being your teacher.
How fast the years did go !

Please come back to visit me As through the grades you grow, Try hard to
learn all that you can There is so much to know !
The one thing I tried to teach you To last your whole life through, Is to
know that you are SPECIAL There is no one else like you !

-----------------------------------------------------------
Saying good-bye...
It's time to say good bye now
and so before you go
we'd like to tell you something that
we think you'd like to know
We're going to start our school days
For twelve more years and then
When we graduate the next time
Won't you please come back again!

------------------------------------------------------------
Off to Kindergarten we go

Sung to: "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"

When I started Nursery School
I was very very small
I am much bigger now
Can't you see how tall
I learned to write my name
And say my ABC's
Oh, I am growing up
Off we go to Kindergarten, 3x's
Oh, we are growing up!

------------------------------------------------------------
Beautiful Day
Zip-a-dee-do-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay-
My oh my, what a wonderful day!
Pre-K is fun--lots of learning and play-
Zip-a-dee-do-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay!

It's time for us to go, now.
We're gonna ride the school bus-
Our new teacher's waiting for us!

Zip-a-dee-do-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay-
Beautiful feeling, beautiful day!

------------------------------------------------------------
Great Expectations
It's time to say. Good-bye.
Our year has come to an end.
We've made more cherished memories
And many more new friends.
We've watched your children learn and grow
And change from day to day
We hope that all the things we've done
Have helped in some small way.
So it's with happy memories
We send them out the door
With great hope and expectations
For what next year holds in store.

Graduation Song

Now I know my ABC's,
Colors, shapes, and days.
I sang some songs,
Learned some poems, rhymes, and fingerplays.
I played outside on sunny days
And inside when it rained.
My little hands and little feet were busy every day.
My Teacher was (teacher's name),
I kept her on her toes.,
She tied my shoes, combed my hair, and even wiped my nose.
But now it's time to say "good-bye"
To all my preschool friends.
School is over, summer's here,
But learning never ends!

FROM TEACHER to her student...

I'm glad I was your teacher
I've come to love you so.
I can't believe the end is here.
I hate to see you go.

Remember all the fun we had
in all the things we did,
But most of all remember...
You're a very special kid!

I have used some of Shel Silverstein's poetry before. Each child learns one line of the poem. He has some good ones.

"Greg and Steve" always have some wonderful songs...good for acting our and/or singing. I also like to have my classes recite a poem...or a short story. Maybe a chant. We have a "school song" that I teach the children for our program.
