I read an article at Today's Parent that presented these questions.... I haven't really put much thought into it yet, but thought it would be fun to toss opinions around here.

Are there things in your past you definitely wouldn't tell your dks about? How would you handle a point-blank question from your child - "Did you ever smoke pot, get drunk, shoplift?" Do you tell the whole truth so they can learn from your "mistakes", tell just part of the story, or are some things just better left untold? Are there things you think might be beneficial for them to hear about?

I don't want to tackle that whole question (stress, no sleep, brain-drained--on a Monday, no less!!), but one thing jumped out at me. I don't think people--especiially children/teens--learn from their parents' mistakes. They pretty much think they are smarter, luckier, and superior to parents. A lot of my life is noone's business--dds, acquaintances, co-workers. However it scares me what I'll spill to you all....

I'd probably answer with a question.
