I am using a new recipe and have never made bourbon balls before. After you let these balls refrigerate overnight, you dip them into melted chocolate and then let them harden in the refrigerator.

Question - How can you get the chocolate to coat them evenly (i.e., have them look nice)? When they harden the small amount of excess chocolate forms a pool at the base. Is there a trick to this?

Thanks - I always look for ways to make my life more complicated! :)

I haven't made them but here's an idea. Get a big old piece of styrofoam or even the florists foam and a box of toothpicks. Push a toothpick in each chilled ball. Dip and twist around so it's all coated. Then push the other end of the toothpick into the foam and let it cool.
