A plea came to us through the Canadian Kennel Club for help for the rescue dogs in New York. I read the plea to my dks and we decided they would each put in some of their own $$ and their dad and I would match it. We took the money and went to the pet store and bought supplies for the rescue dogs: eye drops, saline solution, boots, treats, etc.

The girls each wrote a letter to the rescuers praising the brave dogs, and drew just heartbreaking pictures, really beautiful and telling.

We mailed the package off to NYC together.

The girls are really proud of themselves and I thought it was a way for them to help that is on a child's level, more tangible than just sending money.

Just thought I would share and reinforce that the world is helping the US at all levels.

Our city sent 11 semi's loaded with supplies to NYC last Saturday. All of it started with a woman walking into the fire station asking what she could do to help.

KathyT. - Tell your Dk's that I am glad that they remembered the rescue dogs. I hadn't thought about the dogs needing things. What a wonderful idea!! It is good for your children's healing.

Thanks for sharing!!
