don't ask me why, but dh and I have an industrial mop complete with yellow bucket and wringer....its awful, heavy, and just messy....I want something easy...I keep seeing those commercials for Liberman mop? is that any good? I have the old kind with the spong on the end....I have a swifer dry mop, but does that wet one really work? HELP...someone tell me what they are using....TIA

a GREAT mop would be one that did the mopping all by ITSELF!!!!!!! LOL I have the Liberman one and it's pretty good..I don't tend to get too worked up over mops though :newwink: but I AM really fired up over the Swifter dry mop!!!!!!!! LOL

I don't mop. I HATE mopping! I have the Eureka Enviro Steamer. It uses steam to clean and sterilize the floor. I love it! Before that I had a regular string mop and a red bucket with a thing to wring the mop out in. That worked pretty well.

I've got one of those chamois type mops (chamois strips on the end....twist to wring it out). I'm not real attached to it...happens to be what I've got! I'm not a fan of mopping...! Only do it because I have to! I've got wood flooring...lots of it, and it's a hassle. I love my Swiffer...does the wet one work???? I haven't tried it yet.

Before we had our kitchen flooring replaced in June, I had a horrible floor to clean, so I think I have honestly tried just about every mop on the planet, lol.

I have the swiffer dry, wet, and the wet jet (the battery operated one). I have the Liberman. I have the Vileda. Right now I would have to say I like the Vileda, but the swiffer wet jet is soooooo easy for quick jobs.

What kind of flooring are you cleaning? The wet jet is not good for deep cleaning, just a quick damp wash is more like it.

I have wanted the enviro steamer for awhile, but they are over $200 here which I cannot bring myself to spend on a glorified mop, lol!! Do you love it PamE?

Right now we have the dry Swiffer and a mop with the sponge thing on the end - UGH! I hold off on mopping as long as possible and usually that gets dh to do it. :D We have a wood floor in the kitchen now and I like that. Tile in the entry and linoleum in the baths - ugh! ugh! ugh! Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks is the best....not like that will really change my attitude about mopping unless of course it comes with a maid! :D

I've used a bunch of mops on a bunch of different floors. One of the *advantages* of moving alot! I say the best mop depends on the type of floor. When on base we had one of those hard floors that looks like solid stone. The type I remember from in school hallways. The best kind for that was the chamois type. Anything else tried leaving streaks even when I followed up with clear water. I think because there weren't any seams. For the wood floor the wet/dry vacuum mop worked the best. Now I've got a floor with lots of dimensional design to it. A virtual dirt collector! I've been using a corner scrub brush with broom style handle and a cheap foam mop. Both fit in my 5 gallon pail at the same time. I use the scrubber along the edges, high traffic area and as needed. I really want a cheap mop head now because I use the mop on my walls and cupboards first as needed. Sometimes even the ceiling! All white cupboards show dirt quickly. I like to frequently replace the mop head for that reason. So cheap is best.

Yes, I love it! I love it so much I convinced my Mom to buy one and she loves it too. We both have tile floors, hers is Saltillo. eBay has a couple right now and they are pretty good prices. Here's the link if you want to check them out.

I love my swifer dry mop too...especially with all the dog hair I have now.......we have an old linolemun tile....crappy.....I think that the liberman might be my answer....thanks again...

btw we have the bissle steam cleaner for both carpet/upholstry and flat foors....but to tell you the truth...this floor is so old and starting to crack, and uplift...I hate to use too much steam...or hot water....

Renee...I was just talking to dh the other night about wanting to buy one..your endorsement came at a good time! :)
You think it's on the same par as the rental ones?

Better....probably because its your own, and you take care of it yourself....tons of other people haven't been using it.... I forgot to mention that I love the Pro-Heat feature..........get the Bissell PRO- Heat one I can't stress that enough...my SIL had one that didn't have the heat in it, and it didn't clean the upholstry or the carpets half as well....I got mine at Sears....but I have seen them at K-Mart and Wal-Mart too.....happy shopping...you just reminded me how much I love mine, I think I'll clean somthing this weekend....:biglaugh:

I hate moping and have yet to find one I like. Before my housekeeping hurt her back in a car accident, she used to scrub my floors by hand. God bless her. Then my floors were beautiful. I just use a cheap mophead and scrub with a brush about every 6 to 8 weeks. Still haven't got a new housekeeper, and doubt I'll get one to scrub by hand again. (By the way, that was her preference.)

totally a great gift....we got ours for the fourth of July...we were moving into a house (rental) that had white carpet and they used to have a cat...well, I am deathly allergic to cats and there were stains...the Bissell took care of the cat hair and stains and smell....its a wonderful machine...a little pricy...around $275.00 but I mean it when I say its worth it....comes with upholstery attachments....do it....do it...LOL

I've had several different "cheap" mops, no $200 ones here. Right now we have a chamois one, it works prettyk good, no streaks left behind. I mainly just use it for quick wipe ups though. I was raised on the good old hands and knees with a bucket of water and wash rag, and still tend to stick to that. My tiled area isn't very big so it doesn't take long. (Although, right now, it quick mop or dh takes over the scrubbing, if I get down there I may not get up again.)
