small fall craft

the kids and I were bored this morning....I found a ton of old cinimon sticks....we took out the hot glue gun and some orange and yellow thin ribbon...well, each child bundled three to four sticks together, hot glued them and then tied a ribbon of choice to it.....ds also glued some acorns he had in his room....don't ask...LOL....they are so cute, each child made one for thier teacher.....I am not usually crafty and this was so easy I thought I would share...

It sounds like you and your dk's had a lot of fun... and it sounded like a very cute/fun AND easy craft. Just a word of warning about the acorns... make sure that if they are new, bake them in the oven before using them in/with a craft because if you don't... little white worms will suddenly start appearing. Ugh!!! :( Thanks for the cute idea Renee! :)

When my dd was younger we had collected a lunch bag full of acorns. She brought them into her bedroom and suddenly we were finding all of these little/fat white worms all over her bran new red carpet. At first I thought there was something wrong with the carpet... LOL until I opened up the bag. Ugh!!!!! (GROSS!!!) I forget at what temperature you're suppose to put them in at or for how long... I no longer allow them in my house. LOL It was probably a good idea to take them off. :)
