do you have one in each room? and what kind do you use....one with a lid, a basket? do the kids each have one? are they in your bedrooms or bathrooms? I have the kind that go over the door, they stink.....came with mesh laundry bags....I have too many flights of stairs to drag them down....no thanks...I have industrial bags I use to toss down the stair wells, but what kind of hampers are being used out there?

I have a waste basket and clothes basket (they are actually waste baskets that match their rooms but they are more basket than hamper) in each bedroom...amazing how much it helps! Each child brings his laundry basket to the laundry on Mondays (that's the day I do laundry) and then takes the empty basket back to their room when they get home from school.

I like that they bring them to the laundry room....are these baskets wicker? or themed to the room? thanks in advance...I know I am incredibly nosy LOL

Don't use 'em. All dirty clothes are supposed to be brought to the laundry room.

I have two hampers in the laundry room: one for clothes, one for undies, socks, towels. Then ds has a hamper in his bathroom where he puts everything. I check that every two days. It would be more of a hassle to ask that he get it to the laundry room. I'm thankful it makes it in his hamper. We don't have one in our bathroom, because they look tacky and at least the adults can get their things to the laundry each morning.

I keep a laundry basket in the bottom of both linen closets. I take anything wet, smelly, etc. directly to the laundry room though.

Dh and I have a laundry basket in our closet....the boys have a basket in their rooms. I collect all of the baskets when I do the laundry...usually Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, we did not put a laundry chute in when we built this house...what were we thinking????!!!LOL Both boys aren't big enough to carry the baskets down the stairs....so I end up doing it. Grrr...Dh will do it, but it's usually easier for me to just grab them.

Each of us has one in our rooms... plus we also have another one in the upstairs bathroom. Dh usually does the laundry so on laundry night he runs around and collects all of the hampers. Dd's aren't always very good about putting all of their dirty clothes IN the hampers though... usually there are more clothes on the floor than in the hampers. Ugh!! Sometimes I wonder why we bother??? LOL

We use recycle bins in the kids bedrooms right now. They will be replaced be those mesh foldable hampers whenever they come in. I'm tired of dd using the recycle bin to climb on stuff. We have a cardboard box in our closet LOL. Anything wet or otherwise messy goes directly into the washer, no laundry room, washer in the dining room. Makes for some interesting meals. Lol ;)

No, dh's and mine is the the standard round rubbermaid one. Both kids' are sort of deco plastic taller waste baskets that match the color of their rooms. DD keeps hers in the closet. DS is right by his bed cause when it was in the closet it was just too tough for him to open the door and get the clothes all the way in, now all the poor babe has to do is drop them straight in!!! :newwink:

My dd has a wastepaper basket for her hamper, too!! DH and I have a hamper in our master bath. Sometimes my clothes will end up on my rocking chair in the master bedroom though!! :D

DD is really good about putting her clothes in right now, but know that she will get into the stage of not doing it sometime!!

I have a laundry basket in my closet, dh has one is "his" bathroom, and there is a wicker hamper in oldest ds's closet. However, I prefer all of it to go right into my closet so I don't have to go "gathering" and so I know when I HAVE to give in and do it. LOL!

We have a hamper in each room (rubbermaid with lids for the kids, wicker in master bedroom). It works out well.

ROFL! I had that goal too but I decided to "lower my sites" a little and see if they could just go from on the floor to inside a basket first! baby steps! LOL
