Hey guys. I sure could tell it was a Monday today. The day started off okay except that dh had to go out of town for 3 days. After he left, I got ready for work. Several people called in today, so people were bouncing all over the center trying to cover rooms. I only had to stay over 15 minutes, so that wasn't bad. Then I had some errands to run. I went to the store to exchange a shirt, and when I went to get back in the car, I realiized I had locked my keys in it. Well dh is out of town with the spare set. We used to have another spare set, but mine broke off in the car door one cold morning, so I took the extra set. Oh well, the extra set wouldn't have helped today anyway because my house keys are on my car keys which were locked in the car, so I couldn't have gotten into my house to get the key anyway. Well my window hasn't been working right, so it happened to not go all the way up this time and I have electric locks, so I went back in the store and bought a long thin curtain rod. I used it to pry down in the partially open window, and hit the lock button. It worked and I got the door open. The rest of the day went okay. I had to race across town to the cleaners so that I could get the clothes in today and they would be back before dh gets home. I got home and my neighbor asked to borrow my laundry key. She lost hers. I guess she is having a Monday too. I wonder what's up with keys though. LOL! Hope everyone has a better Monday. Thanks for letteing me vent.
Bless your heart..what a day!! But I am so impressed that you figured out how to unlock the door!!!!!!
Yeah-this has been a really weird day too. People are just falling apart on me. Its quite bizzare. Good for you Leigh, that you were able to turn your day around!
AnnW-I think 2001 is going to be "my" year of hell. Any advice?? LOL

Leigh... I can certainly hear you with the keys... LOL I had to call my oldest dd for some help this morninig (another story) and she was in such of a big hurry when she got in the house she threw her jacket and she thought her key's on the floor. Well... I picked her coat up and hung it up but their were no keys with it. When it was time for her to go we spent over an hour looking for those darn keys until we just didn't have any more time to look... she had to be IN class in 15 minutes and that's how long it would take her to get to schoolm so she ended up taking the spare ones we have. Ten minutes after she left I found them sitting on a dining room chair... so now after class she's got to drive all the way back home to pick them up otherwise she won't be able to get into her apartment. LOL I swear... she looses them darn things all the itme. I told her I'm going to attach her pager to them somehow so we can hear where they are when she looses them the next time. LOL
I hope the rest of your day went better... no more incidents involving keys. LOL
Whats NOT up?? LOL
(1) My sister, who is psychologically challenged (LOL), is on the rampage again and is threatening to severe ties with my Mom, but hasn't yet. I think it would be a relief for everyone.
(2) I think my Mom is going through post-traumatic syndrome and is taking it out on my Father. This would be fine, if it is an isolated incident, but she lashes out (verbally) whenever she gets excitable (every other minute). My Father has done nothing but been good to her and she is just miserable most of the time back to him. I think deep down, she is just one unhappy woman for whatever reason.
(3) Dh is getting ready to go to Kosovo in 4 weeks. Im looking forward to the time alone to grow independently (we are always together if he is not working), but am not looking forward to running the house and raising the kids for the next 4 months by myself. Actually, if I can live through the morning routine, I'll be great. That means feeding the cat; giving the dog a chewie; make lunch for dd; getting ds and dd fed, dressed, groomed and out the door to go to school; and somewhere getting coffee made and drank. Dh takes care of the pets and coffee for me before he leaves for work. You would never know how demanding my cat can be if he hasn't been fed yet. LOL
I just see cracks in the veneer of what was once a strong, solid family unit (my relatives). Its unsettling to look at it and know that you can't pretend it doesn't exist anymore. I see the generational dysfunctions going on and I'll be darned if I will let that seep into my generation or my kids life. Thankfully, Im a watch and learn kind of person. I don't have to wait until it happens to me before I get the picture.
Hey, I like the Duck answer. Thats going to be my new mantra! RoFL!
Well bless your heart...you wanted to be closer to your family!!! LOL
Come here and vent away..it's one of the things that kept me sane last year!!!!
