If your dh were to give you your dream flower what would it be? What color? Curious... :)

I love red roses from Dh. It is my fantasy to have a bed of petals one night. I just would hate to clean up all the petals the next day!! (I can't believe that I posted this!! )
OK enough from me on this one!!:o 8) :D

easier to grow than to get at a florist, but my favorites are lilacs and honeysuckle.
I like a floral arrangement of lots of different flowers in one bouquet. Fond of the simple daisy.

I'm with Chris....I love lilacs! Sweet peas coming in a close second. But she is right...easier to grow than get at a florist. Carnations (any color) would be my florist choice....they last forever!
Should we all be expecting floral deliveries Brichard???
:)
Sunflowers, they are so bright and cheery.

Brichard used to bring or send flowers to me constantly. Now, only once every month or two. Now my ds will see flowers while we are shopping and pick some out and say, "Mommy, I want to buy these for you." So I put them in the cart and buy them!
I love all kinds of flowers. Calla Lillies are our wedding flower. I too love daisies. Really fragrant roses are yummy!

Wow! Lucky gal! I can't remember the last time dh brought home flowers for no reason - he thinks they are a waste since they die. Actually, I used to fight him on it and now I don't really think much about it. He does other little things that let me know he loves and appreciates me...not that I would complain if he did send flowers. ;) Ds loves to pick wild flowers for me and on occasion I will pick up some for myself as a treat, but usually I prefer to pick up a real treat like ice cream or chocolate!

Nothing crazy about Blue roses, I think they are kind of pretty. MIL has a rose bush that actually grows blue roses, not sure what the name of the brand is but they are beautiful. I asked her what they were but she isn't sure either, she got the as a clipping off a friend.

Potted tulips in assorted colors.
Why so curious, Brichard?

I asked for a couple of reasons.
1. I wanted to test the theory that all women like roses. Many times my assumptions about women are incorrect! I used to work with 2 ladies that hated getting flowers b/c they thought it was a waste of money b/c they die. However, I've found them to be the exception to the rule.
2. I like to know what different flowers women like.
dw's favorite movie is "You've got Mail," and Meg Ryan says she loves daisies b/c they are the "friendliest flower." So... we have that little joke when I buy daisies!
Roses are great, but pretty pricey. I hope some of the other flowers will be more affordable b/c my little sweetie deserves flowers!

That's one of my favorite movies too... as a matter of fact I just watched the video the other night AGAIN!
As for the flowers... I LOVE roses, but quite honestly I'd be happy with just about ANYTHING dh would send me. (except weeds) LOL I can't even remember the last time I got flowers. Dh thinks they are a waste of money because... like you said, they don't last long enough and die way too soon. He usually likes to buy me stuff that he knows with last a while... but I STILL haven't gotten anything like that in a long long time either... LOL Hummmmmmmm now you've got me thinking... LOL (jk)

Live ones! -
I am Brichard's exception to the rule. Can't stand getting cut flowers from DH. And for exactly the reasons Brichard's co-workers had, I keep thinking about the money and how they will be dead shortly. I even hate cutting them from my garden. I'd much rather get a live plant for in the garden. In fact DH has gotten me rose bushes as gifts before. Another time he gave me jewelry that had roses designed in the Black Hills gold. He told me that way my flowers didn't die.
I love fragrant flowers. Red and pink roses, lilacs, lily of the valley, jasmine.
Also panseys, clematis, bachelor buttons, persian violet, bleeding heart. I know there are a bunch more. In fact there's a bluish purple weed that grows here that I love. Maybe I'd have better luck growing that!
I especially love flowers where the colors blend together. Sort of fading from one color to another.
Some of the flowers are favorites because they have memories attached to them. The lily of the valley and lilacs grew next to my house growing up. I could smell them from my bedroom window. My great aunt and I always planted bachelor buttons. Blue and purple. The bleeding heart was at my Grandma's.
When I lived at Travis AFB, there was a cashier at the BX (base store) that had a fresh single rose every single day. I asked her about it once and she told me that her DH had given her a single rose every single day they were married. I can't remember how many years for sure but I'm thinking it was over 20 years they had been married.
When I win the lottery  one of the things I will do is ALWAYS have fresh flowers all around my house!!!!! But not roses...I think they are pretty on occasion, but not really a big fan.

I am with you on that one AnnW. I just love fresh flowers all over the house. Everytime I look at them I smile, they look so fresh and beautiful.

I agree with Lynda. My favorites usually have a memory attached to them. Carnations are the big winner from the florist. But lilacs, hyacinth, mock orange, and easter lilies always send my on a little trip down memory lane (dancing and smiling all the way!!).
Brichard- For me roses are okay. But I'd prefer a handful of carefully selected weeds. I think roses are kind of easy.....I'd prefer the effort of originality.

Lilly of the Valley are my absolute fave. They look, the smell. I had them all through my wedding bouquet, at first the stuck in baby's breath but had them replace it all with lilly of the valley. I had them on my wedding cake too.
I like the smell of roses. Fresh white daisies look so pretty and happy.

I love morning glories. I haven't really seen any since I was a child but my mom always grew them.
And of course I love roses... Deep red and cream are my favorites. My dh got me roses for our 3rd anniversary. 1 the first day; 3 the second day; 6 the third day; and a dozen on the actual date. I was very impressed...

If she ever happens to find out would you please let me know. I would love to plant some in my yard. Thank you!:) I am glad that someone else likes them too. I had blue silk roses in my wedding boquet.
