Was I missed today??? NOT!!

I was a second grade teacher today. I loved it. The teacher was very organized and had great plans. I have tried to read some of the posts from today, but am getting "Fatal Errors". I thought that I would just post and try again later.

I hope everyone had a great day. I ended up getting a princess outfit for DD for halloween. Not what she particularly wanted but it should be ok. If we could create an easy Cleopatra costume, we still may do that.

I am not working tomorrow, but will be substituting for the same teacher on Friday. Although I am tired tonight, I am looking forward to Friday. I don't know how you full time teachers can do it all. You truly have a busy day.

Well, Let's see if I can respond to some posts now.

Happy Dreams everyone!!

Good evening!! :)

kacee - Sounds like you had a fun day!

Dh and youngest ds had class tonight....oldest ds and I make it our "date" night. :) For the 3rd week in a row we went to a pet store. They have baby rats there and it has actually been fun to see how much they grow each week. They also have baby mice....I was AMAZED at how they can climb and JUMP! I could have done without seeing those capabilities considering I have this fear that there will be some in my garage this winter. :nervous: LOL! We also stopped at a few craft stores looking for some stuff for a project to do together and then we
stopped to get a pie on our way home. :licklips: We had a fun night together. :)

How fun for you KarlaB.

Funny you should mention the rats. DD just suggested that we have coco (The loco hamster) dress up like a rat for halloween. Can you tell she is full of it!!

What did you pick as a craft for y'all to do?? I was just looking for craft Halloween ideas for the DD's class party.

Could you believe that I found a Cat Litter cake. With fake dodo and all!! You are suppose to make it in a CLEAN litter pan!! What a trick for someone. I don't think I could eat it though!!

LOL about your dd and the hamster!! You mean you're not going to dress it up? :newwink:

I think I have seen or heard about that cat litter cake, but I can't remember where. Not sure that I could eat it either, but it would be kind of fun to make for someone!

Ds and I were going to make the red, white and blue pins that Renee gave for an idea, but we have had the darndest time finding any safety pin or red, white, and blue beads anywhere in town!!! :\ (I have been to three craft stores, WalMart and Target. ) I finally bought a super size multi colored pack of beads and we'll just have to pick out the ones we need.

Hi Kacee. Glad you had a good day teaching! I kept getting those fatal error messages too! Very frustrating!

Our kids have changed their minds so many times about what they want to be for Halloween that I have given up trying to keep track. We have a dress up trunk full of costumes they can use and I have costumes from past years that they can choose from too. I bought a M&M (complete with the booties and gloves!) at a yardsale this summer....dd loved it at the time....now has decided she wants to be a wizard! Maybe I can convince ds to wear it!

Karla....ewwwww about the rats! And the mice! Saw our cat with a mouse at noon....good kitty!

I didn't get fatal error, I got the sight wasn't here! LOL Could get to the home page but not message boards.
We went to the Astros heatbreaker last night...just need to win won game to clinch but can't do it :( Barry Bonds didn't break the record either..we couldn't afford to pitch to him.
I am in charge of the 6th grade orchestra party tomorrow, so I am heading to Sam's to get the rest of the food that I didn't get farmed out! DD has her Brownie pinning ceremony today at the SAME time as DS needs to be picked up..wonderful dh offered to do that for me!! That's it.

Bummer about the Astros! :\ How many people do you have to serve for the Orchestra Party? What are you serving? Good luck and congrats to dd on her Brownie pinning! :)

Good luck with the orchestra party... and Congratulatioins to dd with her pinning ceremony... I always hated it when the kids had something going at the same time/night... especially with three kids and only two of us to get them to and from where they needed to be... LOL Good luck with everything...

I had the fatal error all afternoon yesterday too... of course it just HAD to happen right during my quiet time. Ugh!!! I ended up having to go find something else to do and actually got my pantry cleaned out. LOL I'd probably get a LOT more done if I got the fatal error message more often. LOL

To be honest, I am not really sure! LOL Maybe 100? I have a comittee of 10 and most of them are bringing something, but I was just filling in the rest. I am proud of myself..had a budget of $250, but have only spent about $130!!!! I got most of the food donated. We will be having three different games plus foos ball, ping pong, basketball ect. Should be fun.

Thanks! I started looking in the notes from years back, and they just had the chaperones each bring a snack. I did that rather than appointing one person to have to go out and get all the food plus it saved so much!

That has been happening to me alot lately. I thought it was just me though. Glad that it is not an operator problem.
