Hi all. What do you use for cold medication?
I have been suffering with this blasted cold for two weeks now and nothing seems to help. Totally plugged up head...sore ears...tired...achy. Not the usual runny nose at all. I have been using Advil Cold and Sinus which isn't really helping this time and it usually works really well for me. Thought about going to the Dr. but it seems like so many people have this cold right now that I think it just has to run its course.
I'll give my cold away for free to anyone who wants it!!!!

I love Tylenol Severe Allergy and it comes drowsy and non-drowsy.

I've really never found anything that REALLY works... lots and lots of liquids, chicken soup and as much sleep as you can possibly get. LOL Good luck... I hope you can find something that works for you and you get over your cold real soon. :)

I use Vicks Dayquil in the day and Nyquil at bedtime....that should realive some of your symptoms.....lots of rest, which I know is hard to come by....and lots of fluids and Vitamin C....I take 1000 mgs when I am fighting a cold...every 4 hours for two days....
hope you feel better soon....if not call the doctor...no harm in that.....8)

I have used just about everything mentioned here. If you're not feeling better soon, do call your dr - maybe it's a sinus infection?? Hope you're feeling better soon!!!

I use Zicam cold remedy and SWEAR by the stuff. It won't help you this time though since you use it at the very beginning of the cold and it locks onto the cold germ in the nose and prevents them from *taking root*. It's a homeopathic nasal gel. Haven't had a cold that lasted 2 days since I started using this stuff 2 years ago. Amazing. They (Zicam) have one designed for allergies as well. I read about Zicam in the weekly magazine Woman's World. DS tried it once and said it burned so we havn't used it on him since. DH doesn't have as great as results as I do. It does shorten the length of his colds though which is how they advertise it. He uses Nyquil as well.
Prior to this I drank grape flavored Dimatap as if it were koolaid.

That's good, because if I'm sick and it doesn't make me drowsy I don't want it. I need sleep. TSA works well for me. I also use Afrin Nasal Spray so I can breathe. It can be addictive so be careful. I can tolerate alot of cold symtoms, but when I can breathe I can make it through my day. A couple squirts and five minutes later I'm a new woman.

I've used the vicks dayquil/nyquill and had good results. I have also took Dristan sius tabs and found they worked quickly to relieve the stuffiness, but left my sinus' feeling a bit dry, a little nose spray helped that.
My Dr. reccomends taking vitamin C at least 500mg daily, even when you don't have a cold and 1000mg with a cold. He also recomended taking dimatapp (liquid works faster but tabs ok too) as soon as feeling a cold come on.
you feeling any better? what did you take?
