View Full Version : DD's brownie ceremony
I get to DD's Brownie pinning ceremony (at the Nature Center) to see a mom and daughter leaving. Ask "it's not over is it?????" She says no..the girls were walking along a trail and somehow kicked over a bee hive that had fallen and a bunch of girls were stung!
I get to the main place to be greeted by 15 hysterical crying girls all of whom had been stung many times!!!!!! DD was stung 3 times!
The poor Brownie leader..the girls just all wanted to go home!
DD is ok now, jacked up on Benadryl and meat tenderizer!!!!!!!!!!

Those poor girls. I hate bee stings. Glad dd is doing ok. I always worry about alergic reaction especially if you've never been bit before.
I'm glad that your dd is feeling better now. That's scary!
The brownie leader just called. She thinks is what a hornet's nest. YIKES! One mom was bite 3 times and is not doing real well..she is in alot of pain. The kids all seem to be doing ok. After the swelling came down, we realized that dd was only stung once..yea!! It's already looking so much better.

Oh my... those poor kids! I hope everyone is doing much better. Didn't the kicker know it was a bee hive? Sorry it turned out like this... I'm sure this is a ceremony that they will not soon forget. I'm glad to hear that your dd is doing much better.

Okay, that had to be scary for you...and for the others, especially the girls.
I hope she continues to get better. What a memory to have of Brownies! Wow.
She is just great today..enjoying telling her war story! :) Diane, I am not exactly sure what happened, if someone kicked it not knowing it was a hornets' nest (turned out to be hornets not bees) or if it was just on the ground and they came out when the girls came by. The leader said that they were definitely coming after them though! One of the mom's had to go to the ER last night, he foot was biten and it swelled really badly and one of the toes started turning blue. Haven't heard how she is today.
These girls will never forget this meeting! :) The leader is going to get them all bee patches!

LOL... too funny about the bee patches but definitely appropriate. (do they even have them?) LOL I hope the mom that ended up in the ER is doing better... I think I've only been stung by bee's once (but 3 times when I kicked a can) in my life and I'll never forget the pain... 8o I'm glad that your dd is doing much better... I'm sure she'll be talking about it for quite some time. LOL

Glad that everything turned out okay for your dd. Hope that everything is okay for that mother.
Oh my goodness....I am so glad that everything turned out ok, for your daughter and the others there....I like the bee patches....thats a cute idea....some times these things are such flukes....I walked into a hornets nest once, got stung twice on the elbow of all places...then preceeded to pass out....what a wimp I know....

Ow!! How scary for everyone!! Hopefully the mom is doing better. Bees, wasps, hornets are another big fear of mine!!
