here tomorrow! My dks are so excited, but I keep telling them that it might not happen. The weather reports here are ALWAYS wrong. It has been chiller lately than it had been, so maybe it will.

We are also losing our daylight pretty quickly now. It's strange- the sunrise is at 8:28 am today and the sunset is at 7:02 pm. Soon my kids will be going to school in the dark and also coming home in the dark. That will really be strange! What a wonderful adventure Alaska has been so far! :)

Tuesday night when I went out to lock up my car doors we were having snow flurries. Very little but it WAS snowing. I cringed... I'm just NOT ready for snow yet. I'm not a winter person and would just as soon skip over all of that icky white stuff if I could. My day care kids are SO waiting for it... Yuck!!! Time to put the lawn mower away and take out the snow blower. LOL

Yikes! I am not ready for snow, but dks would be thrilled! Maybe then they would stop asking me when we can have another water balloon fight! LOL!

It would be interesting to live in Alaska...please continue to keep us updated on the different "quirks" :)

All of my family is in MN and Iowa....I know, I know, can you believe they did this to me? :newwink: Actually, I don't hate snow, I just dread the cold and ice....and the fact that it's right around the corner and sometimes seems to last forever! LOL!

That's probably why I hate it... I've had quite ENOUGH of it to last me a life time!!! Last year it seemed as if winter would NEVER go away... Ugh! LOL Enough is enough!! :)

Well snow is one thing that I don't have to worry about this year, and I will actually miss it.

I'm with the Down with Snow gang. It's not so much that I dilike the snow itself; it just needs to stay off the roads and my driveway, I hate having to drive in it.

dh is getting prepared. Now that we are out in the country, our driveway is much to long to shovel so he bought a blade for the front of his truck. We will still have to do walkways and stuff, but that won't be quite so bad.

I think the first few snowfalls are absolutely gorgeous but after that it can just go away and not come back! I HATE all of the shoveling... it's too wet and messy and I hate the way it always makes it's way into the house and gets all over my floors. IMHO there is not much good to be said about it. If it didn't last so long it wouldn't be so bad... but it always overstay's it's welcome by a month or two... LOL

I also don't appreciate freezing my butt off... I hate being COLD. If it would stay at an even 45 to 50 degree's with NO wind... I could live with it but not when it gets down to 15 to 20 below... burrrrrrrrrrr!!! Can you tell I really hate winter? LOL

To show how funny people are from Houston....

Yesterday morning during carpool, it was approx. 48 degrees out. The kids from Houston were in winter jackets, fleece hats and mittens!!! I giggled to myself because I had long sleeve shirts on my kids and a spring jacket!! ROFL! You can definitely tell who was raised in the North and who was raised in the South! LOL

IT SNOWED, IT SNOWED!!!!! I'm so shocked that the weather people were actually right. We are only supposed to get around 1-4 inches but on the upper hillside (towards the mountains) they are expecting around 15 inches.

Lucky for me last night I actually went out and bought the last few winter items I needed. Snow pants for both kids and boot for ds. DS's class has a walking field trip to the fire station today so I'm glad that he'll be warm!

I normally don't like to drive in the snow either. But my home day care class is this week and it's to far away to walk, so I have to drive. Hopefully all the idoits stay off the road today! LOL Sudded tires are able able to go on cars Sept. 30 and I don't think many people have them on yet. We have 4 wheel drive and so far haven't had a problem with it.

Wow!! Enjoy it and be sure to drive carefully! Always give yourself extra time and be wary of other drivers...there's always a few here who seem to think snow and ice don't affect their driving! :{ I bet your dks will be excited to play in it later! :)
