View Full Version : Wild weather around us!
There have been a couple of tornados on the far east side of town and now a HUGE band of storms are coming my way and of course I will be out in it cause I have to take ds to the doctor this am! Got a letter from the school nurse saying he needed to get the Hepatitis B shot (he is in the age group that didn't get those younger) AND will need to have both rounds by his 12th birthday. Well, hello...his birthday is Nov 4 and you just sent me the note and the shots have to be spaced 4 months apart..so how do I do that???????????????
oh well...my vent for the day! :newwink:
Hope ya'll have a great day!!

Yeah... be careful out there! Bummer about ds's shots... don't you think they'd give you a little bit of extra time if he couldn't get them done by his 12th b-day? You'd think seeing they didn't inform you sooner... it's the least they could do. Try to have a good day... :)
Diane...
Well, grrrr..the monsoons hit as soon as we left the doctor's office to go back to school..we get soaked...I blow off going to the grocery store and not FIVE MINUTES after I get back home, it's all sunny again!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
The school was fine about the next round being in February and even admitted that they were way behind on getting out the notices.
OMG! Last night I thought the thunder was going to knock my house down! Thunder, lightening, then this massive hail storm. There's STILL hail on the ground from last night. It was intense. Maybe Mother Nature is mad at us all?
Ann, glad you got some sun at least. It looks like it's poking out around here too.

I hate that kind of weather too....glad your ok....glad that ds's shots worked out well....driving in a rain storm is almost as bad as snow....almost....
AnnW, we've got the same weather. More on the way tonight. Neighbors lost a huge tree in front yard, we didn't even get any branches knocked off (that's a first). One of my student's house was struck by lightening and has alot of smoke damage.
Ds got a note from the nurse Tuesday that he needed his last HB shot and he came unglued. He'd already had all 3 but the health department did not record one on his shot record. I got it straightened out yesterday. No more shots. With ds, they were all supposed to be a month apart. We waited longer on the last one because I was tired of taking off a whole afternoon to sit in the health office waiting for one nurse to give shots to the whole county. (I noticed yesterday, they were now taking appts. for shots) Anyway we waited until the annual immunization fair at the school during the summer to get the last one.
Don't be too hard on the school nurse, if she's like ours she's serving twice the students she is supposed to.
Kat.....I would have been if she hadn't been so gracious about the mistake!!! I was more made at our pedi's nurse who "lost" us and kept us waiting for 30 minutes then I hear her calling us out in the lobby while we were in a room going 'hello we are here'!!!!!!!! LOL

Glad that everything worked out with ds's shot, and also with the weather. I hate scary weather.
