View Full Version : Any big weekend plans???
DH left yesterday for a golf/gambling outing in Las Vegas. DS is going on a Scout canoe trip this weekend, so it's just DD and me. We are having one of our block happy hours tomorrow. DD is "cheering" before the high school football game Saturday night. And HOPEFULLY (miraculously) the Astros will win both games in Atlanta and come back here Sunday and clinch the division!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What ya'll got going on?????

Astros??? baseball, right?? lol
We are going to a "murder mystery" dinner at our neighbors Friday night. Saturday, Brichard is going to his college homecoming football game, gag. I wanted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch, but it started raining yesterday and isn't supposed to stop any time soon. I think the patch will be a mud bath instead of a field.

Nothing happening here except hockey Saturday morning. We opted out of ds's Scout camping trip. I was thinking oldest ds had a paintball trip with the youth at church, but I haven't seen the flyer lately. He didn't go to church last night because his football game was rescheduled for Wednesday since they were out of school on Monday. There are a couple of movies coming out this weekend that I'd like to go to with dh - we'll see!

We're heading to my mom's to celebrate birthdays - my mom's and my older bro's. It should be fun. We all wanted to go to a pumpkin patch, but I think it's supposed to be rainy.

Well you all seem to have an active and fun weekend planned... :bigcry: I have nothing fun to do. LOL I'm suppose to pick my mom up at her house early Saturday morning and bring her back to my house and then my dh, mom and I are going up to my sister's house for the morning... well at least my mom is. She's lived in her house for almost a year now and we've NEVER seen it. Mom wants to see it before the snow flies so we decided that while we are over at my FIL's house mowing the grass we'd drop my mom off so she can visit with my sister. We'll stay for a while but leave my mom and her to themselves to visit for a while. For some reason her dh thought that he should be there and was about to cancel him and his ds's fishing trip... but my sister vinally convinced him to continue on with his plans... She wanted to take my mom out to lunch by herself anyway... so now she still can. LOL When were done with the mowing I convinced dh to take me out shopping... just to give my mom/sister some extra time together so... at least I'll have SOMETHING fun to do... except that I hate going shopping with my dh around. :( I'm hoping I can find something. I bought a new pair of black pants the other day and when I got home realized that I had no black shirt to go with it so... that's my mission for Saturday. LOL Anyway... I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Ann, I hope you enjoy your weekend with your dd. I hope she has fun cheering... I hope the Astro's win for you... :)
Angie, have fun at the Murder Mystery party... I wish our neighborhood did things like that... LOL I've already been to the pumpkin patch and found myself 6 of the best pumpkins in the whole lot. LOL
Karla... have fun celebrating all of those birthday's at your mom's. Eat a piece of cake for me... especially if it's chocolate! Yummm...
TxMom... I hope you get out to see those movies you want to see. It's been forever since we've gone to see a movie. I don't even know which movies are playing. Maybe when the weather gets bad we'll have more itme to go but right now we seem to be spending a lot of time outside. :)

Why don't you start one for your neighborhood??????!!!!
We'll probably be carving our pumpkins on Saturday, and working on decorations and ds's costume (he opted out of being Shaggy, and wants to be a Butterfly instead since he was a Caterpillar last year...) maybe making some pumpkin cookies or something.
On Sunday we're going with another family to the Northwest Puppet Theatre to see their latest show Marco Polo. Should be cute.

It sounds fun but I have no clue what they do at one... so I don't think I would be the one to have one. LOL Anyone care to elaborate on what you do at one and how much work is involved? I am interested... I think it would be a blast and seeing we just recently got a few new neighbors... it would be a good way for them to meet everybody.

They have KITS? Cool... :) I'm going to have to check them out. With a kit available... it doesn't sound like it would be too hard at all to do. LOL
Thanks!

Hi all. Dh is headed out of town tomorrow morning for the weekend, so it's just me and kids....with no vehicle! Probably for the best as dd is grounded for the weekend.
Trying to talk my mom into going to a fall supper Sat. evening though, so we might get out of the house.
Tonight is movie night.....I rented A Knight's Tale....saw it at the theatre and loved it....now the kids will get to see it too.
We are still having beautiful fall weather, so maybe we will get some yardwork done. And of course there's all that dreaded housework to catch up on....UGH!
We participated in a Murder Mystery once....it was alot of fun.....I was the murderer! Are they going all out with food/costuming?
Hope you all have a great weekend.

...and we're okay with that, especially since she's feeling so much better!! LOL
It sounds like some of you have some fun weekend plans. I on the other hand have no plans and that's the way I like it! LOL I like being able to relax every now and then. I have a few craft projects to finish up around the house and it might snow some more. We did get more snow last night so everything is beautiful and white not to mention the sun is shining. The wind chill is at about 0 degrees right now, but it is SO beautiful that I really don't care!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

AnnW-It's what I do, it's what I am, it's what I'm (occasionally) good at. Bossing people around is a talent.
(And did I detect a hint of sarcasm, young lady?)

MM! Not much going on here. I have some gardening to do. The sunflowers I last planted are almost 4 feet high and need to be staked to bamboo. I have some cuttings that are ready to go into the ground and a few hanging plants that need to be thinned out. I decorated the front porch this week for the holiday. No one else has decorated their homes and I doubt they will.
I'm going to start to repaint a chest of drawers. Has anyone used a crackle finish for a large piece of furniture? This is a first for me.
Enjoy the weekend! ßß!

Hiking in a marsh with the Cub Scouts today! Yahoo...(sound excited about this, huh??? LOL:rolleyes: ) Not my favorite way to spend Saturday morning, but ds is excited. It should be pretty, though. The leaf colors are almost at peak, and that is always so neat to see. We painted our living room last weekend. It's gorgeous, but made for a long weekend. This weekend I might switch the furniture around in the boys' bedroom. We'll see how I feel after this 2-3 hour hike. Hope everyone has a great weekend.:)

 I call it effective management skills. I love bossing people around. But, maybe the two of us should stay clear of each other. You know what they say about too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Cathy

kat- I think regional chiefs are a good thing. So you take south central, I'll contain myself to the mid atlantic. Seriously, I do have a tendency to 'mother' people. Probably why I have no desire for another child of my own. LOL
You call it behavior management..I call it making suggestions and presenting options. "A rose by any other name..."
