My cousin gave me this recipe - I made them yesterday and I can't quit eating them!

:drool: Monster Bars :drool:
2 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup melted margarine
2 TB shortening
2 1/4 cups plain m&m's
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Combine oats, flour, sugar, soda and salt. Mix well.
Add margarine.
Mix until dry ingredients are throroughly moistened and resemble coarse crumbs. (*Reserve 1 1/2 cups*)
Press into greased 15 1/2 x 10 jelly roll pan. (I used a 9x13 pan because the 15 x 10 seemed too big and like the crumb mixture would be too thinned out.)
Bake @ 375 for 10 minutes.
Melt shortening until warm in a thick bottomed sauce pan.
Add 1 1/2 cups m&m's ~ continually cooking over low heat. Stir constantly with a metal spoon.
Press m&m's with the back of the spoon to break up.
Remove from heat and stir in condensed milk. Mix well.
Spread over crust within 1/2" of crust.
Combine reserved crumb mixture with remaining m&m's.
Sprinkle over chocolate mixture and press in lightly.
Bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown. :drool: :licklips:

It looks like a lot of work to make these, but it actually went quickly and they were so worth it! :D

I just finished Yoga and drinking a protein shake and you hand out this recipe!!!!!

You're welcome! I almost feel guilty for posting the recipe LOL....for all those who are doing so well with weight loss - these are way too tempting and addicting, but I guess since I gave a warning my conscience should be cleared, right? :newwink:

Right now I'm really trying to loose some weight so I think I'll print out a copy of it and save it for later. If I bake it I will most definitely eat it... no willpower what so ever. LOL
