Anyone have a simple and yummy recipe for pork chops? I have lots of links for recipe sites, but would rather have one that someone has tried and likes..... TIA! :)

I am browsing around, trying to figure out this new format and thought I'd give it a try.
I hardly ever have pork chops, but this recipe was easy, although my note to myself says "fairly good".
Pork Chops Baked in Wine
4 lean center cut pork chops, about 4 oz each
1/2 c Madeira wine
1/2 c dry vermouth
1/4 c water
1/2 t dried thyme
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
3 slices lemon
2 T minced onion
Place pork chops in casserole. In saucepan, combine all remaining ingredients except onion and bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower heat and simmer 5-10 min. Add onion and simmer 1-2 more min. Remove from heat and let cool to room temp. Pour marinade over chops and marinade 2-3 hours in refrigerator, turning occasionally.
Preheat oven to 350. Take marinated chops from refrigerator, remove and discard lemon slices, turn meat once again, cover, and bake 10 min. Remove cover, baste and turn heat up to 400. Bake 5-10 more min or until chops are lightly bronwned.

Thanks Karen! I have just been in such a rut with cooking lately and want to try new things! Seems like I am always making the same things! Thanks again!

I have a friend who douses her pork chops with sauerkraut(?) and bakes them in the oven. She says they are to die for, I have yet to try them. I prefer my pork chops stuffed and fried/baked. mmmmmmmm

This is a recipe that my mom cooks. Everyone seems to like it and it is very simple. Take the pork chops and brown them in a frying pan. Then lay them in the bottom of a casserole dish. Put a layer of sliced potatoes, then a layer of sliced sandwich cheese, another layer of potatoes, another layer of cheese, then pour a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed with a half a can of water on top and cook in 350 oven until potatoes are done. Usually the pork chops are done then too, but you might want to check just to make sure.

Leigh - Your recipe sounds yummy, too! I can't wait to try all of these out!!!
Angie - My mom always made them with sauerkraut, too and I love them that way, but dh doesn't like it. I'm wondering if he has ever even tried it though. He also used to say he didn't like Chinese food (and other things) when we met and now he loves them after trying them. His mom cooked a lot out of a box and I don't think he was exposed to much variety. I will ask him again about trying sauerkraut! :)
editted to add - THANK GOODNESS for the editting option! I just noticed that instead of typing yummy I had written yukky!!!! Yikes!!!!

Is cooking them in the crockpot with a can of cream soup (i.e. mushroom, celery, broccoli, etc.). Very tasty

It is ok, just be sure to season it. Add a package of dry onion soup mix. Don't add any extra water.

My family is not really a big one for pork chops but this is about the only recipe that they seem to like. I think it's really good!
Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
1/2 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup hot water
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2 Heat oil in large skillet. Saute onion in oil for 1 minute, or until tender. Remove onion and set aside.
3 Brown pork chops on both sides in oil. Place chops in an 8x12 inch baking dish and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Cover the chops with the apples and cooked onion.
4 In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, cloves and water. Pour over chops. Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes. Enjoy!

Thanks... I hope you like them! :)
KarlaB, This is a favorite of my family. Chicken-Fried pork Chops. 1/2 cup flour, 2tsp. salt, 1 1/2 tsp. ground mustard, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 8 pork loin chops 3/4" thick, 2 Tbls veg oil, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1/3 cup water. Combine 1st 4 ingredients. Dredge chops. Brown in oil on both sides. Place in crock pot. Combine soup and water. Pour over chops. Cover & cook on low 6 to 8 hours. I serve it over rice. If there are any leftovers I will combine the meat (which is fall apart tender) with cooked carrots, peas and potatoes and top with bisquick bisquits or a cornmeal pastry for potpie.
This is one everyone loves and (with a yankee husband, 2 southerners and 1 very picky eater) is very hard to accomplish at my house.

Ooh, that sounds yummy! Everyone has passed on such good recipes - I can't wait to try them all. I wonder how many days in a row I could make pork chops before dh would decide he needed to cook a meal to get a break from pork chops! LOL!! :)

Hi everyone,
THis is a really simple pork chop recipe. All you do is dredge them in shake'n'bake and cook in them in the oven. IT's that simple and it's delicious.
Have a great day,
