Ok, so I am married to professional Photographer, so you would think that we are on the ball about family albums and developing film....WRONG.....I rounded up about 16 rolls of undeveloped film this morning....its not labeled for the most part...I know luckily which rolls are from our california vacation....this is going to cost me big time....I was thinking of just taking them all to Wal mart to have them developed...what do you think? Or should I do them a couple rolls at a time? help....I need doubles too and walmart seems to be reasonable.....

I do want to say I am great with placing them in albums as soon as they are developed and sending the grandparents copies and all that...and I am the home photographer just thought I would mention that too....LOL...

WOW!! 8o :) I have been feeling behind, too. I have three rolls to take in and about 8 I need to get in albums....I hate being so behind! :tearhair: I usually take our film to Sam's and can get doubles of a roll of 24 developed for under $4.... Good luck!!! :)

hey thanks for the idea:idea: my SIL has a membership at Sams, that could just be the cheapest way for me to get them all done at once....I hate the idea of doing them seperate...then I would have to wait until each roll came in to chronilogically place them in an album....thanks again..:D

No problem. :) My mom and sis give me their film to get developed, too. I should have mentioned if you use Advantix it is more expensive, but still cheaper than most places. :)

Karla, don't use Advantix, but I have yet another question.... while we were on vacation...my step sister took lots of photos on a disposible camera...then gave me the camera...are these expensive to delelope the film in...they say you need to take the whole disposible camera to the place and they take out the film...just wondering if you know anything about that?

Renee, it cost the same amount as getting regular film developed.

I always try to get my film in and developed right after I'm done using it. I'm usually too anxious to see the pictures and can't wait. LOL

But gee, Renee, the photos are so much easier to store when they're in those little black containers! :newwink:

I know what you mean. I'm seriously behind too and it's pits!

I use Wal-Mart for the convenience....and if I REALLY gotta see the pictures, I'll cruise to Walgreens One Hour. I like the 4 inch prints....do you guys???? I scrapbook, so that size is best for me.

I use a lot of disposable camera's and the pictures turn out just GREAT!! With all of this talk about developing film... has just reminded me that I have to go to the store to pick up either some film or another disposable camera so I can take pictures of my day care kids halloween party tomorrow. Ugh!!!! Better go...

Sam's Club is the cheapest for us around here too.

I usually get mine developed at Target ONLY because it's practically right down the street from me. SAM'S is farther away and I'm less likely to get there as often... so, Target it usually is. I guess I didn't realize how cheap SAM'S was... great deal!

Since all we have here are 2 drug stores that offer developing--which is on the expensive side for any sooner than a week delivery-- I send my film off to York Photo Labs. It takes about a week. I find the mailer envelopes all the time in the mail and sometimes there are some great special on them. With the mailers you don't pay postage to send them in.

I am really behind on scrapbooks. The last time I put pictures in dd's book is when she turned 4 (she's 6 now! 8o )

I'm the resident photographer too--I'm never in any of the pictures.

That's the way it is here... my dh doesn't even "think" about taking pictures while I've always got the camera in my hand waiting for that "Kodak moment"... LOL Very seldom am I ever in ANY pictures unless another relative or family member takes them. :) I swear... if it weren't for me constantly taking pictures, my kids wouldn't have any pictures from their childhood. LOL :)

IF and when my dh ever does take a picture, he takes forever too. LOL He tell's us all to SMILE, and so we all stand there with big smiles on our faces waiting and waiting for him to finally take the picture. By the time he finally does your mouth hurts from trying to keep the smile. LOL Hummmm... it makes me wonder if he does this on purpose so he doesn't have to take the pictures. LOL

I'm not too sure I'd call it cute... LOL ANNOYING is more like it. :biglaugh: Now... if it's the VIDEO camera it's a different thing. I can hardly get that away from him. LOL How often do you all use your video camera's compared with taking pictures? I think we take more pictures than use the video camera... I couldn't tell you why though. :)
We really should video tape more things than we do.

We don't use our video camera as much as I thought we would and tend to go in spurts. Dks love to watch videos of themselves though, so we should do it more.
