What part of Colorado are you from? I am near Colorado Springs. I am visiting Texas (home) next week.. am looking forward to the warm weather and beach there. The snow is great but I hate driving in it.

Im in grand ol' Pueblo! Welcome Neighbor!!! I love the Springs, but hate the traffic. Are you on the North end or Southern end?

Im also not from Colorado. My home is NY. We are just waiting for dh to retire from the military. I too, need to have beaches and water around me. I feel very landlocked here.

This is way too cool! :D I am from Sealy.. about 50 miles West of Houston! Galveston has really gone downhill since I was a kid (now 28) but still enjoy the beach.

I live South of Colorado Springs now in Fountain. Live in a quiet little subdivsion. I like being away from all of that traffic and very rarely do I try to fight it. This traffic isn't as bad as Houston's though! I used to drive from Sealy to Houston everyday to go to work... what a headache!

Very nice to meet you two girls who I have something in common with besdies being a Mother!! :D

Hi AGAIN! I also wanted to mention to Amy that my boyfriend is in the Army here at Fort Carson. He is getting an "early out" because he got a great job at NORAD. He has been in for 13 years. I would love for him to stay in and retire but his heart is calling him to do something different. Is your DH at Fort Carson also? If so that is quite a drive!! How long until he retires?

Can yall tell that I am just way too excited about all of this?! LOL!

Geez, you are only about 20 minutes away from me! Dh's drive is only about 35 minutes from here (Ft. Carson). Its really no different than driving down from North Springs with all the traffic. We like Pueblo and go up to the Springs about once a week for chinese food. :)

Dh retires in exactly 11 months from now. Im not sure what he wants to do yet. I just know we want to move back East.

The pocket parks are nice, have you been to Moody Gardens/Palm Beach that's really pretty.

I certainly don't feel like a kid.. oh how I long to be carefree again! LOL! ;) Whenever I am near the outlet malls I GO! Sounds as if they may be second home to you Ann! :D When I go to the beach I normally go to the State Park only because I don't have to deal with too many people and they have showers.. my daughter gets sand EVERYWHERE! LOL! She really enjoys the beach.

I agree about the drive from Pueblo being a lot nicer than from North of the Springs. I-25 is such a mad house. I have a girlfriend in Denver who I met on another board. We try to visit from time to time but the drive from here to there kills me. I like it when she decides to drive down to the Springs! ;) Congratulations to you Amy for dealing with the military for all of these years. LOL! I was in the Army for 3 years... that was enough for me! I think the wives have a harder time than our military guys so. From being deployed to working crazy hours.

Heck-I've only had to deal with the military for 8 years. 4 1/2 of those years, he was undeployable. He was teaching in NC for that time. The military has been pretty good to me. Plus, Im not a typical wife-I have a life outside of the military! LOL The only thing that miffs me was I didn't know him when he lived in Hawaii and Monterey, CA for 4 years each. I get stuck with North Carolina and Colorado. I was meant to live in Hawaii! LOL
