Ok teachers!!! I noticed in my son's classroom the other day a closet full of "gifts" that his teacher had been given. Little knick-knacky things. What kind of gifts would a teacher most appreciate and not stick in the closet?? How much to spend?? Do you get something for every holiday?
Also, I am taking food to the school for PBA (in-service) days. What would be something good to take??

Gift certificates are always a big hit... either to a book store or a restaurant... depending upon how much you want to spend. I've also gotten my share of too many pins, knick knacks and coffee cups, etc. I enjoy and appreciate ALL of my gifts... it's nice to be thought of, but you can only use so many of one thing. LOL IMHO even a simple/special picture (or anything home made) drawn by your child would be nice... something to remember them by. Good luck~

Hi Angie. How about a donation in their name to a local food bank? We have an Angel Tree program here at Christmas....pick an angel for a boy/girl with their age and buy a gift to donate to the program. Have your kids make a card and put the angel inside with a note that you donated a gift in their name.

I'm with Diane...as a teacher (who receives at least 30 Christmas gifts each year!:* such sweet kids and families) I can only use so many mugs and candles! I like cute notepads and pens...maybe a bulletin board set for my classroom (like a "wintery" theme)...gift certificates are nice. I get a lot of Jar mixes of cookies, brownies, etc. TONS of ornaments! Our entire Christmas tree...with the exception of the boys small collection...is all teacher ornaments. Now I'm into that...I hang the ornaments each year, and truly remember my past students. Some teachers I know don't really use the "gift" ornaments. My kitchen has an apple theme...primarily because of all of the "apple" gifts I receive. LOL I get alot of bath lotions/potions, also. Some years my class will get together and get me a cute combined gift. That's nice. I just remembered...I LOVE to get cute holiday crafts (for my home or classroom) from holiday craft fairs. I also like it when a parent forgoes a gift for me...and rather buys a gift for our class. Maybe a new game...or a set of books, etc. The kids love to give me the gifts (whatever they are), and I am always appreciative. I take every single gift home and show my family....and remember each child with a smile! (You know, we don't EXPECT kids to give us gifts....it's just that most do.) I'll let you know if I think of anything else.
