I've lost my mind (I'm sure) and have planned a "come for dessert and tour the highly illuminated homes" get together before we leave for Disney in December!!!
We did this 2 years ago, and have been asked to do it again, so I'm here hoping you'll share some good, quick dessert recipes with me.
If there is anything that can be made ahead of time, even better.
Please help!!
Thanks in advance!
I have a great Raspberry Grand Marnier mousse.
Here is an incredibly easy dessert and people always rave.
Take any basic brownie mix. Fix according directions. Puree frozen raspberries with a little grand marnier. On a plate drizzla a little of the raspberry mixture, put a slice of brownie, top with fresh whip cream and fresh raspberries and a little sprig of mint. Easy.
Another good recipe..your basic vanilla cax mix cooked according directions. Mix melted chocolate, frozen orange juice and canned chocolate icing to good consistancy, spread on cake, top with mandarin oranges.

Here is a simple recipe that my DH really likes,
Pineapple Dessert
Graham Waffer crumbs
1 can of crushed pineapple
1 pkg of dream whip
Make a graham waffer crust as per instructions on box, but double the recipe. Put a little over half of the graham mix in a round cake pan or a spring form pan. Put remaining graham mixture aside.
Then while your crust is cooling mix up your dream whip and drain the pineapple.
Then fold in the pineapple into the dream whip.
Then put you rpineapple mixture on top of the cooled crust, and spread evenly. Then sprinkle remaining graham crumbs on top.
Refridgerate for about an hour. Then cut into slices and enjoy.
Hope this helps, it is a big hit with DH and the in laws

Hello all,
These recipes all sound so good, I think I am going to give them a try also.
My DK's love to help me in the kitchen, and they also like pretzels.
I think it will be fun to try and do these with them especially during Christams vacation, when we struggle to find something to do besides TV when it is cold out.
It will be fun that is yummy......

Cinnamon-Sugar Pecans
1 egg white
2 cups pecan halves
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Beat egg white until foamy. Add pecans and toss until well coated. Combine sugar and cinnamon; add pecans and toss to coat completely. Spread in a single layer on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees F for 30 minutes or until browned. Cool on waxed paper.
Haystacks :thumb:
(you can make these with either/or butterscotch chips/milk chocolate chips)
1 pkg butterscotch chips
1 can chow mein noodles
1 can peanuts
Melt butterscoth (or chocolate) chips in double boiler. Add noodles and peanuts and stir until well coated. Place on wax paper-lined cookie sheet by heaping spoonfuls. Refrigerate until set.
White chocolate peppermint :licklips:
1 pkg white chocolate chips
1 pkg peppermint, crushed (very good for getting out aggressions! I usually beat it with a heavy knife handle!!!)
Melt white chocolate chips in double boiler, add peppermint and stir until well coated. Spread on wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate until set. Break into pieces.
(sounds like a weird combo, but it's really good!!)
Fudge Bonbons :dazed:
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
60 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a heavy saucepan over low heat, stir chocolate chips and butter until melted and smooth. Stir in condensed milk, flour and vanilla until well blended. Shape one level teaspoon of chocolate chip dough around each candy kiss. Arrange bonbons one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 6 minutes. Bonbons will be soft and shiny, but will firm up as they cool.
Hope these help!!!! Have fun!!!
I'd like to put a lot of these recipes on the IB site... can I have your permission? I know that these aren't all original recipes, but I'd still like to submit them to the site. :)

My SIL just made this and sold at a bake sale. She put it inside a fruit jar and covered the lid with a fancy soft cover. The candy was a beautiful see through red. I think some people call it stained glass candy or red hot candy.... Anyway I haven't made it but when she did it was delicious!!
Broken Glass Candy
2 cups sugar
2/3 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon Lorann Cinnomon oil
1 teaspoon red food color
Powdered sugar
Mix first three ingredients in a large heavy sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar disolves. Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310 degrees F. Remove from heat. AFTER BOILING CEASES, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour onto a large lightly greased piece of heavy duty foil. Cool and dust with powdered sugar. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container. Makes 2 pounds
