Does any one know about shalacing food? Is it possible? Does it perserve the food forever or will it eventually rot?
And how exactly do you spell the silly word//

All the ones in my cabinet right now.. about 3 bags... look like they are already shellaced. Hard as a rock anyway. I buy them to make something when they are on sale and before I know it they are hard and I start the process all over again. Going to have to start pitching some out the door I think.

LOL! Please be careful not to hit anyone when you throw them out the door! ;)
I rarely buy marshmallows, but I do know they get hard. Another thing that gets hard in my house is brown sugar! I think I read a tip to keep it soft...I think it involved bread? Anyone know what it is?
Put bread in a tupperware bowl with the brown sugar, seal, and wait over night to soften the sugar
The rest of you are no help at all!! LOL Im not telling what the marshmellows are for!:p
