Slooooow computer driving me crazy!!

Over the last 2 or 3 days, my computer has been very slow to open any application. Even opening a document within a program takes at least 60 seconds. We have a dsl internet connection so normally I just double click my favourite desktop icons and they open right up. Today I have been timing out it has taken so long.

Does this sound like a virus? How do I fix it? It is driving me looney!!!

By the way, we do run macaffee and it says no files have been infected, so I am wondering if it sounds like a hardrive problem?

LOL, I know its not my puter, but this board is slow and full of fatal errors for me today....been off line for the whole weekend...now that I have time to catch up...well...its slooowwwer than molasses....LOL...sorry I am not much help...but I am in the same boat....:lol:

KathyT-I'm not the best person with computers, but have you downloaded a new application? Sometimes that uses so much memory (?) that it slows stuff down. Is anything else running at the same time? Do you use Windows--which becomes unstable and unreliable (in my experience) every 6-8 months? Do your dds download music on Morpheus or have Instant message programs interfering with a perfectly good computer? Can you guess what some of my computer issues have been???

I know exactly how you feel. Every time I seem to have the time to read/post... it's usually running so slow I hardly have any time left to respond to any of the posts. VERY frustrating... :(((((

Thanks for the responses guys but I think it goes beyond this board unfortunately, although trying to open this board seems to be the worst.

Cathy, lol, my dks are only 7 and 9 so they aren't messing up my computer.........yet!

I tried to run a defrag last night and couldn't, so I have no idea what's up. Dh is going to have a look tonight.

sorry your going through this :(...dh took apart my puter over the weekend...and I was lost...LOL...Hope your dh can get it fixed....:biggrin:
