I live in the uk and would love to try pacakes made American style. I've often been promised the recipe before but never received it. Can anyone let me know how to make them please?

Here you go... hope you like them! :)

Pancakes

2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 Tbsp. salt
2 eggs
2 Tbsp oil
2 cups milk

Preheat cast iron griddle to medium high heat.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add eggs, oil and milk and mix with
a wire whip. Batter may be a little lumpy.

Make sure griddle is fully heated. Grease griddle lightly before
pouring the first pancake only. Pour first pancake to desired
size. Cook on one side until bubbles appear and a couple of then
pop. Flip the pancake with a spatula and cook a minute more, or
until bottom side is light golden brown.

Serve with butter and real maple syrup (any syrup)

chocolate chips or blueberries to the batter. My children first asked for chocolate chip pancakes and I thought they sounded awful. We tried them and they are actually delicious!! Enjoy.

P.s. Where in the UK do you live? My mom was born in London, as was my grandparents.

Thanks Marla.
I live in Washington in the North East of England.
Where I have my playgroup is just 1/4 mile away from the ancestoral home of George Washington.

We also like to have them with fruit (like peaches or bananas)and whipped cream. Also if I made an especially large batch and have some leftover, I leave them out, and the kids can spread them with jam, roll them up and eat them for snack. We do that if I discover I'm out of syrup, too. You can add just about anything you want to the batter, I especially like grated apples, walnuts, cinnamon, and just a pinch of grated orange peel. Your imagination can take you anywhere with pancakes!
