I forgot all about my bread maker. I got it last year...and made fresh breads in the winter (they smell so good). I guess when it got hot outside, I put it away. Now it's getting cold out again, and I think I'm going to go and get it.
Anyone else use a bread maker? Any good recipes to share?

I haven't used mine in a while and I have always just bought the bread mixes. My breadmaker came with a recipe book, but I haven't tried any of them yet. Did yours come with one? I could post some of those if you want me to, but you may want some that people have already tried?? Let me know. :)

I try to blame it on time constraints rather than a lack of creativity. :newwink: :D
I just use the boxed kind for breads and I love the Hawaiian bread. YUM! I don't make bread often though, I usually use my bread machine to make pizza dough. I takes a lot time (1.5 hours) to make, but it's cheap andd it tastes good!

Jen, what do you need to make pizza dough?
I have never made to make homemade dough. We love making homemade pizzas, but we always buy the dough :\
I don't need to make the dough, I just do because it tastes better to me than the pilsbury kind in the tube. You should try it!
You can only make it if your bread machine has a dough cycle setting on it.
Pizza Dough
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons regular active dry yeast
or
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Place all ingredients in bread pan in the order listed. Start bread machine on dough cycle.
Move oven rack to the lowest position. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into 12 inch circle on cookie sheet with floured fingers. Spread with favorite toppings. Bake 18-20 minutes or until crust is light brown.
(To make Herb-Cheese Pizza Crust: add 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil, oregano, thyme or Italian seasoning with the flour)

jen - The pizza dough sounds yummy. I hope to try it tomorrow night and I'll let you know if we do! :) I usually buy a mix that I just add water to, but this sounds so much better and another reason to use my bread machine that doesn't get near enough use! Thanks! :)

I don't have any recipes, because I usually just use the bread mixes in my machine, too -- Fleishmann's Country White. I have made yeast rolls (using dough cycle and recipe that came with my machine), but found they were not quite as good as the frozen roll dough. I did like it for pizza crust the couple of times I used it for that.
One thing I did not like was using a cinnamon bread mix -- I smelled wonderful, just tasted YECCHY!!!!
