I go to http://www.dltk-kids.com most of the time when looking for crafts and stuff, Mary. I love it! They even have some Bible lessons I use for my preschool Sunday School Class.

Marla I love http://www.makingfriends.com, too. I've printed off a ton of the friends but have yet to finish coloring and cutting them out. I would love to get a xyron machine and turn them into magnet people for my kids...

Maybe she means copy machine xerox? I don't know just a thought:p

I'm not sure but maybe the xyron machine is the thing that I saw advertised that lets you make stickers, or laminate things.

Not sure if it is it...bit it did look really neat.

Marla is correct. A xyron machine makes stickers, laminates and can even make magnets. There are some smaller models that only make stickers or only laminate.

do you have one? does it really work good?

I think I might have to buy myself a little present because it sounds very intriguing.

Thanks for letting me know.

Don't have one yet Marla but I was putting groceries in my trunk the other day and guess what was just sitting there... A xyron machine... Dh had gotten it for my CHristmas present. and to make it even funnier he left the receipt on his desk in our living room! He forgot to take it out of the trunk and hide the receipt... I am so excited... He is joking about waiting until the 12th day of Christmas to give it to me...

Netmechwife....that's so funny

You must tell me what's it like...I won't get one until I hear what you think.

I hope your DH doesn't make you wait until the 12th day ;)

We opened a couple days before Christmas :) I've used it so far to make labels for my sons toy drawers (one of those plastic drawer carts) I printed off pictures of toys of what goes in each drawer. Ran them through my machine, cut them out and stuck them to their drawer. Ds loves it. He names all the pics.

I want to use it more but I want to plan what to do because I only have sample size cartridges of each roll (1 magnetic, 1 double sided laminate, and 1 acid free sticker cartridge). I don't want to use them up before I can get more. I love it so far. Uses no electricity. Works great. Easy to use. Says children can run it with adult supervision (has a tiny dull blade where paper comes out to cut the roll at the end of your picture/sticker etc). I will let you know more as I use it more.

Speaking of making magnets, I saw the cutest thing the other day. A red minivan had magnet christmas lights stuck all along both sides. Just the bulbs - it was too cute.

Mandy sounds great...I actually always wanted a laminator but they are so expensive.

Maybe if I get out boxing day shopping today I will see if I can find a xyron on sale :)

The Xyron 510 (5" wide 4 in 1 model) was on sale for $59 at JoAnn Fabrics last week. They bigger models run up to $115? I think. You can find them on ebay really easily too. Just make sure you get 510,850 (8.5") or 1200 (12"). The 500 model and the littlest xyron (don't remember the name) only do stickers and not laminating and magnets.

I had a great coupon for JoAnn's for 50% off one item. So my dh used the coupon to get mine.

Last night I printed Bearenstein bear paper dolls off the internet, cut them out, ran them through my xyron with the magnet cartridge. Now ds has a portable magnet bearentstein set. Warning though. You have to have something metal under them to get them to stick together well. They stick ok but stick really well when you put them on metal like a cookie sheet for example. SO next time we take a trip we will be taking his bear set with a cookie sheet as a lapdesk :) I am so excited. I love this thing!!!

I'll have to use some of my cranival money for one. Sounds like they'd be handy to use in the classroom.
