Dh stayed home from work again today feeling completely rotten. He called the doctor right away in the morning and couldn't get to talk to him. He called 2 or 3 more times. Finally somewhere around 3 he got an appt. and went in. His red blood cell count was really low and he was on the borderline of needing a transfusion.8o He has to go in tomorrow morning for a stomach scope. The doctor wanted to put him in the hospital tonite but dh didn't want to. (He didn't want to mess things up for me with my preschool program). I don't think the doctor specifically said it, but dh is worried that it's a bleeding ulcer.

The preschool program went great!! It was so fun to see the kids with their families and have them so excited to see me! The director was really helpful and nice tonite and even told me that the kids did a good job. :) It was a pretty rushed day though. I got done with preschool and clean up around 4, got home to find dh was at the doctor, and dd and ds were at Grandmas. I went to get dd so she could get ready to go with me and other dd to the program. Grandma kept ds #3. They older boys stayed home. I got back to the preschool a little after 5 only to get a call shortly after that dh needed a ride home and couldn't drive. I ran to get him, ran him home (which is when I ended up running over ds#2's new kitty :( ). Get back to the preschool at 6 when they are about ready to serve the meal. After the program was over it was almost 9 before we got things cleaned up. The 3 youngest kids didn't want to go to bed.

My dad and mom had come to the program and they brought dh's car home from the clinic.

I'm feeling completely exhausted right now. I know there are so many more posts to read and respond to. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers even if I don't respond personally to each of you. :)

Linda, I hope everything works out with dh. Again, it's the not knowing.....and waiting..... Ugh!

Glad the program went well. It IS fun to see the kids do well, and share it with their parents. Congratulations on a kind word from that director person.

It sounds like you really had a busy night... 8o I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything works out okay with your dh... let us know how it goes.

I'm glad to hear that everything went well with the preschool program... and WOW about the compliment from your director... it's about time. :biglaugh: I'll bet you came home feeling pretty darn good about yourself, as you should.

Ugh about you running over your ds's kitty. How did he take it? I hope he's handling it okay. :bigcry: Is there a new kitty in the picture?

After all you went through last night... I hope you at least got a restful sleep. Take it easy... :)

Diane... :xmas:

Hi!
Just stopped in to give you an update. I have a million things to do.

Dh was transported to Grand Island (70 miles away) Wednesday around noon. He had an ulcer that was bleeding (I think they called it a perforated ulcer?) He had surgery Wednesday afternoon. All went good with that. He is supposed to be there about a week. We're hoping for earlier. Yesterday he was much more alert and this morning he called me and was able to carry on a conversation without falling asleep.

I was there Wed., came home at night, went back yesterday and came home last night. I'm heading back tonite after the kids get out of school and taking them with me. They are handling it well, but they sure miss him. I feel awful for hardly even seeing them lately.

Thanks so much--prayers are greatly appreciated!! :) I don't know when I'll be back on here. If I don't make it back on before Christmas, I hope everyone has a Joyous Holiday season.

Linda,

Sorry about the late posting. Wow....what an exhausting time you've had.

Sorry about your DH....glad that the surgery went well and it sounds like he is on the road to recovery.

Congrats on the preschool program, and it sounds like the director had a change of heart.

Take care of yourself and I hope things get better :)

After reading your first post I immediatly sent out a prayer for your dh. Low/High blood cell counts scare me no matter what the cause.
I was sorry to hear in later posts that he had to have surgery but glad he is doing well. Hopefully he will be home soon.

Sad about ds kitty. That must have been hard for you as well as him.

Hope to hear from you again before Christmas, but if not hope your holiday is the best.
