Oh grant me patience. My dd is only 7 and we have been having emotional tramas. Last night, was a sensativity moment. (This one was a good life lesson - didn't mind it too bad) Now today, It is I don't have anything to wear!! I can't go to church tomorrow! It is not even Sunday, yet!
If this is any indication of what is to come, I am going to need major help!!

I really appreciate all y'all. I will be needing support on this. Is anyone dealing with this? What do you do???

Now, we will be going out to look for a new skirt. DD has 4 perfectly good dresses to wear for church, but she is having a emotional fit!! She says we have to get a skirt. I ask her how we will pay for it. She says, "I have 2.50 cents in my purse. I will get it" - Part of me is laughing, but I know this is important to her. What do I do???

Help!!

Does she want a skirt because that is what everyone else is wearing? Did she try on all the dresses and look at them again? I don't know for sure what I'd do. I am thinking I would take her out for the new outfit though. Are kids really starting this at 7? All I wanted to wear at that age was my brother's underwear and football jersey. Can you say "Tomboy?"

Don't buy her a skirt to stop her tantrum!!! Think about what that will be teaching her. My dd is almost 7 and we are on an emotional roller coaster almost every day..the huffing and stomping are enough to drive me to drink! Between her and ds, I can hardly wait for puberty (she says rolling her eyes in disgust!)

Well,
We went to the store. I had to pick up some things. She tried on a few skirts but the xsmall would not even fit her. She seems ok, but says that her day will be ruin tomorrow. Even prayed that her sunday would not be ruined. OHHHH DEAR!!

Tomorrow morning dh will be here. His first time (he usually has meetings sun morning, but not tomorrow)hopefully she will not throw a fit because of his presents..

I SO agree with AnnW. If you go out to buy her a skirt because of the tantrum she threw you will see MANY MORE tantrums in your future... guaranteed! My oldest DD started doing crap like that when she was about that age and I simply refused to give in to it. You would have thought I was the worst mother in the world... LOL After MANY fits/tantrums and me STILL not giving in to her... she soon learned that it just simply was not going to work. Unless they REALLY NEED something, don't buy it for them... and NEVER EVER buy anything for them if they had to throw a fit/tantrum to get it.
