View Full Version : Painful breasts, help!
This is one of the the last things I want to discuss on a public forum, but I really need advice from you moms (especially since my doctor doesn't know diddly squat)!
For the past week my breasts have been very tender, almost painful. I've had PMS problems like this before but not hurting this bad. It seems to be getting worse and now almost feels like the sharp pains you get when your milk first lets down during breastfeeding. I've been staying away from caffeine so don't think that could be the cause.
I'm open to suggestions as to the cause and also any way to make them STOP hurting!! (whine!) Thanks!
Could you be pregnant? Mine use to do that during that time.

I'm with Amy....that's exactly how mine felt, especially when I was in the first trimester. As crazy as this may sound, they were more painful when I was cold! We used to curl and I had to constantly hug myself out on the ice! LOL
You haven't found any lumps have you?
I hope you find out why they hurt.

Pam, my mom had this problem and her ob/gyn told her to eliminate caffeine and it worked for her.
I am concerned that you doctor doesn't give you any confidence in what could be the problem.....I agree about the pregnancy thing, I was very sensative there all through both pregnancies....Also I have heard of increasing your calcium durning pms.....try another doctor, don't mean to preach at you.....take care of yourself....keep ups posted...
I should 'fess up and say that yes, there is a possibility that I am pregnant. That's what I'm hoping beyond hope that it is! *G* I did take a blood test at the dr's that came back negative, but they said it could be too early. Like I said though I've had tender breasts as a pms symptom occasionally, only not this severe (so I've really been cutting back on caffeine). Oh if you could only see the wheels turning in my mind, LOL!!!! "Well, it's probably just pms.... but I really COULD be pregnant.... yeah, right.... it was that soda I had last week that's the culprit.... no, I HAVE TO BE PREGNANT!!! LOL!!! I'm driving myself bonkers! *Ü*
My doctor is probably an okay guy, I just abhor doctors! The only one I ever met that I liked moved away to another state. :0/

I agree with all above, I did the same thing when i was pregnant with my 2nd child. Let us know how everything is going!!!
How exciting! Hope you get your wish. Let us know!!!
Well, I'm rootin' for ya! But... Just in case you're not, I get those little reminiscint "let-down" prickles frequently, like several times a month (and I can guarantee I'm not pregnant, that would be one for the medical journals, lol). I just figured it's because I'm a veteran mom. What I do to relieve it is raise my forearms up and press them against my chest firmly for a few seconds. That usually does the trick. And, even if your wish has come true, try that! It'll still work.

just being nosey....and wanted to know how things were with you....*G*
Well, it's for sure now, I'm not pregnant. Not that we were trying but I just want it so bad. HA! The only way it'll happen is an "OOPS"! So I guess that I'll just keep hoping and praying that God will override dh (no more kids) and birth control. *g*
Thank you for all of your well wishes and for lending an ear.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the news you wanted. :( My sister had an "oops" a few years ago and got the girl she always wanted. What's meant to happen will happen! :)
:( Sorry it didn't work out the way you wanted!
How are you feeling though...still tender?

Sorry it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. One of my friends had an "oops" 16 years after their last child was born... during her menapause, so it can happen. When is the question... LOL Good luck! :)

My mother had my little sister 16 years after me...and my brother 18 years after me.
