....is when we get the girls their own trees for their rooms. We did that today. They take such care to decorate them in their own unique ways, tons of tinsel and great gaudy lights, loads of glitter and ornaments they have made over the years.

What's your favourite tradition?

I don't think I have any specific tradition that I'd pick over another. I simply LOVE spending time with ALL my family. What a blessing they are.

Hanging up the decorations around our house. The kids have such fun with it! Not enough room in thier bedrooms for trees, but they each decorate their room with lights, tinsel, garland etc.

Renee- that's so sweet.

I don't really have a favorite at all. I do love it when the house is decorated and I just like to sit in the dark with only the tree lights on. They are always so beautiful.

I'd have to say decorating the tree!

I don't know any kids with their own trees, but I like the idea! Need to do that next year!

I love to sit on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and watch the tree lights. Christmas eve we go to my mothers, then Christmas day to my MIL's -- so late Christmas eve night is when my husband and I exchange our gifts to each other -- no kids, nobody but us. Our gifts to each other are usually practical ones, but that doesn't matter. It is a special, quiet, relaxing time for just us.

Another thing I love to do is -- buy and wrap presents. I love to spend time picking out the perfect thing for someone. It is not always something that costs much money. (For example, in out secret santa exchange at work, I found a flag with a snowman on it. It is the exact snowman pictured on some greeting cards my coworker wanted to buy. But she found them a little pricey, so she wouldn't let herself get them. Another example: For a niece and nephew, I had a picture of them and my son made into a jigsaw puzzle for each -- cost about $15) I don't do anything fancy, but as I am wrapping, I think about the person I am wrapping for, remember the ways in which they means so much to me and hope that my love for them shows in the gift they receive.

well, hell's bells..I posted to this last night and now it's gone!!!!

Mick..my kids have their own trees!!!

I have so many favorites, it's had to pick just one. The luminaries that everyone in our neighborhood puts out on Christmas eve..it's so pretty so see row after row of lights down the streets. Church on Christmas Eve. My whole family together for the Christmas day meal. Our open house Christmas night and watching our kids delight in being "part of the grownups". Decorating.
