View Full Version : Cake Mix Cookies??
Does anyone know the recipe for cookies that are made with a cake mix?? I saw some at a recent party and want to make them. They were colored green and had cute christmas shapes!
Thanks for any help!!
I don't know how to make them like that. I guess you could just roll out the dough. Maybe someone else knows.
1 box cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
mix and bake for 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
My favorite is devils food chocolate cake mix with peanut butter or white chocolate chips. They are SO yummy! :)

I use the recipe above too. And I love the devil's food ones. Our family favorite though is to use a white cake mix, and roll them in sugar before baking. Delicious. However, I have never had any success in rolling them out to cut. I did see a recipe in a book a few days ago that used cake mix, eggs, and cream cheese. These were shaped like candy canes, so that might work better for rolling. I will look for the recipe book today and post another message when I find it.

From the Nov. 2001 Pillsbury Holiday Cookies and Candies booklet (like is sold near the grocery store cash registers): These are called cream cheese candy cane cookies. The ingredients are:
1/4 cup of butter, softened
1 3-ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 18.25 ounce package of white cake mix
1/4 teaspoon red gel or paste icing color
1. Heat oven to 350. In large bowl, combine butter, cream cheese, and egg; blend well. Add cake mix. Mix until well blended. Divide dough in half. Add food color to half of dough; blend well for even red color.
2. For each cookie, measure 1 teaspoon white dough and 1 teaspoon of red dough. Roll out each into a 4 inch rope. Place ropes side by side. Lightly roll together; twist. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet; shape each to resemble candy cane.
3. Bake at 350 for 7 to 9 minutes or just until edges are golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
Now, I have not made these yet, but plan to over the next few days. I would think you could use different colors and, since you can shape the dough, try rolling them out and using cookie cutters.
:licklips: SOUND YUMMY
