Well.....I finally decided to take dd to the ped. since she was on her 4th day of fever. :nurse: The doctor looked at her throat, ears and listened to her breath. She said her throat didn't look that bad but with the fever she'd better take a quick culture to check for strep. 6 minutes later in she walks, saying......yes, she has strep throat.
We stopped and picked up dd's Zithromax. She is still running a fever but I hope she is better soon. The contagious period will be over at 3 tomorrow afternoon. :(

Poor dd... it's a good thing you brought her in. 8o I hope she starts feeling much better real soon. Now keep your fingers crossed that nobody else gets it.
Diane... :xmas:
sorry your dd has strep...its the worst...but I am glad she has a script...now she can mend...break that fever and get back to her sweet self....
hand in there....sick kids are pathetic  and being the nurse :nurse: can wear you out....hang in there...
Bless her heart. I hate having strep. My oldest used to get it several times every winter. I can diagnosis it as well as any dr. Too bad I can't write the perscription. With the antibotics, she should feel better tomorrow.
Bless her heart.
Hope she feels better soon!!!
I'm glad you took her to the Dr. and found out what's wrong with her. Poor thing :( being sick is not fun. I hope she's feeling better soon and I hope she doesn't share the germs with the rest of the family.

Sorry to hear that DD has strep. Hopefully with the antibiotics she'll feel better really fast. My DS usually feels better after 2 doses :)

We are having a tough time getting dd to take her medicine. She may never get better at this rate!
At 5am ds woke up with 101.0. I took him to the doctor at 9:45 to nip this one in the bud, but, negative strep results. So either we make another trip to the doctor after it progresses to strep or hopefully it is just a virus. I just love those $95 visits that turn out to be nothing!
I think I need a nap! LOL

Ugh!! I know what you mean. We took youngest ds to the er when he had the flu so bad and it was over $200 and they did nothing. :tearhair:
If your ds gets worse and you think he has strep couldn't you just get a prescription called in? Our dr does that for us if one dk gets strep and the other starts showing signs.
Oldest ds used to fight taking his meds. Is it a liquid and does she just not like the taste? :\
Hope everyone is better soon - it sure can be draining with sick dks. Get a nap in today!! :)

Strep is horrible!!! Hope the kids are feeling better soon and that you and Brichard don't get it!
Been there - still there with child who won't take meds. Ds (12) still has a horrible time swallowing pills. Whenever possible I always get him an oral syspention.(sp) Good luck.

Dd is feeling better although she still fights the medication. She usually LOVES Zithromax. I hope what she is getting knocks it out!
Ds is still 102 - 103. Not showing any strep signs though. He is very upset about missing school tomorrow. I called his teacher at home tonight because I was supposed to work in his classroom tomorrow. Ds couldn't believe she wasn't at school....."you mean she has a house?" LOL  He has a fieldtrip on Tues and a party on Thurs I just hope he is better by then. Especially since I am in his class both those days too!

Too funny. A month or so ago some of my kdg kids were complaining one after the other, "I want my momma". I said sometimes I wanted my momma too, and one of them was very surprised and said, "You gotta momma?"
