View Full Version : So where do we post now??
AnnW and some of the techie-phobics are posting (or shall I say revolting) on the old board and some of you are here. I like this board. I'm just miffed that someone used my username already (Amy). If I had known sooner, I would have stolen Ann's or Rae's name! LOL
I don't think my dd has allergies, unless allergies are contagious. Ds and I now have the fever, achy, coughing and post nasal drip hell. I would think this was a cold, but the discharge is all clear in color. It also is harboring in the sinus area. Im sure the dry air here is making it worse. I just want ONE doctor to find me an answer instead on referring me on. Ugh! Well that is my excuse for not being here. That and my 2 1/2 yr old has mastered the computer. He has his arsenal of games he wants to play. Dh can't believe he is competing with a 2 year old for puter time! LOL

Morning Amy. Keep a close watch on this flu that you have....we had one young mom from our community almost die from it. It can invade your lungs and cause serious pneumonia. She spent 14 days in ICU.
Take care and hope you all get feeling better soon.

My little guy has had a bad cold since last week - no fever, but a horrible cough!! I am calling the clinic this morning. I know a 4 yo who was recently hospitalized for pnemonia! Yikes!! It's just hard to kow when it is more than a *bad* cold, so I will take him in to be safe. Have a good day everyone!

I had a little one in my day care who was very sick for over THREE weeks with that awful cough, runny nose... She hardly slept because every time they put her down she'd start with that coughing. When they brought her into the doctor he said that this is a virus that could last up to, get this... 6 to 8 weeks! It actually took her a total of 12 weeks to TOTALLY get over it. It's been an awful year so far with sick kids... I hope all of you'rs start feeling better soon.

Now I feel better after you told me there is some nasty stuff going around. Ds and I slept in my bed last night with the humidifier blasting. I actually feel better, but the congestion/pressure has moved towards my ears.
Ds is sneezing and runny nose today. Dd is doing better, but still has the semi-congestion on one side of her nose.
Its been a bad year for illness for us. I never had a virus in my sinuses this many times in a season. Im hoping when it finally gets warm here, it will finally help us to get rid of the congestion.
What are the symptoms of pneumonia? Good lord, trying to fugure out what everyone has is like a needle in a haystack!

I called our nurse this morning. She said it sounds like my ds has a virus. I told her I had been hearing a lot about pnemonia and she said he would have a fever, but didn't give any more symptoms. I think one is shortness of breath? She said to try Robitussin DM for his cough, so we'll see. Sorry I can't help you any more than that Amy.
Diane - WOW! About the little girl in your dc! I hope ds's cold (or whatever it is!)doesn't last that long. He is hoarse and gags and vomits because he coughs so hard. Ugh!
Hope everyone is feeling better!
