Thought I'd repost the peppermint playdough recipe here in case someone else missed it.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows what the trick is to make red playdough using food coloring. All I get is a dark pink.
Saprkling Peppermint Play Dough
2 cups flour
2 cups water
1 cup salt
4 tsp. cream of tartar
4 TB oil
4TB peppermint extract
Combine all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constatnly with a wooden spoon, until mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Form dough into a ball, place on waxed paper and allow to cool.
Makes 12 portions.
I haven't actually tried this recipe yet so I'm not sure how well it works.
I just noticed that an activity suggestion with this is to let the children knead in red or green food coloring and roll it in glitter.
Good luck with it!
